This topic describes the billing methods and standards for the brainindustrial AICS product.

Billing method

Subscription (prepayment)

Definition: Subscription is a prepayment method where you pay for an instance at the time of creation.
Scenarios: This billing method is suitable for long-term use. The longer the subscription duration, the greater the discount.
Change configuration: If you change the configuration of a subscription instance, you may need to pay the price difference or receive a refund.
Renewal: After a subscription instance expires, it stops running. To continue using the instance, you must renew it within the specified period. Otherwise, its resources, such as CPU, memory, and disks, are automatically released, and the data is permanently deleted.

Billing components

The basic fees for brainindustrial AICS are a combination of product feature fees and resource fees.

Premium Edition	1) Provides all features of the Basic Edition and a complete set of algorithm development components. a. General features: Real-time algorithm orchestration, Model Management, Custom Components, and Service List. b. Industrial analysis and modeling, system identification. c. Real-time algorithm orchestration component suite. After activation, the service provides 4-core 16 GB of computing resources and the ability to upload, store, and analyze data from 100 second-level data points for three months by default. Runtime Edition	1) Provides node authorization for training models and runtime environments. A runtime node supports up to 72-core 256 GB of computing resources. If you exceed this limit, you must purchase authorization for additional runtime nodes. Runtime nodes can be deployed on Alibaba Cloud ECS instances or on-premises servers.	Yearly subscription

Resource billing

Resource type	Billing description	Billing method
Instance type (CPU and memory)	After the product is activated, computing resources, including CPU and memory, are provided based on the instance type, and fees are charged accordingly. The Basic Edition provides 4-core 16 GB of initial computing resources. If these resources are insufficient, you can elastically scale out resources. Purchase a resource scale-out package as needed. The minimum unit for scaling out computing resources is 4-core 16 GB.	Subscription
Storage	brainindustrial AICS billing is based on the number of access points. The basic fee lets you upload and store data from up to 100 second-level data points. It supports data storage and queries for three months. After three months, the data is aged out and deleted. To store data for a longer period, consider migrating it to an Alibaba Cloud ApsaraDB product periodically. If you want to increase the number of data points, you must purchase a data storage extension package.	Subscription

Note: For specific product prices, see the product details page. The product is currently in the invite-only beta testing phase, and test users are not charged.

Overdue payments

How to proceed

If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, all pay-as-you-go instances under that account are considered overdue.
If the overdue amount is within your non-stop service quota, your instances are not suspended. During this period, you will receive a daily text message reminder.
If the overdue payment limit is exceeded, Alibaba Cloud suspends the instance and stops billing.
You cannot release an instance while your account has an overdue payment.

Top up your Alibaba Cloud account to immediately restore the instance to a normal state.

Important

After data is released, it cannot be recovered.

Seven days after the service is suspended, the instance is considered abandoned. Alibaba Cloud then releases the instance, and the data within it is deleted and cannot be recovered.

How to proceed

From day 1 to day 7 after the instance expires, the instance is locked and cannot be accessed.
From day 8 to day 15 after the instance expires, the computing resources of the instance are released, but the data backups are retained.
On day 16 after the instance expires, the instance data is no longer retained.

While the instance is locked, manually renew the instance to immediately restore it to a normal state.
Starting from day 8 after a subscription instance expires, it is automatically moved to the recycle bin. You can renew and unlock the instance from the recycle bin within 7 days. If the period expires, the instance is released. While the instance is released and its data backups are retained, you can rebuild the instance from the recycle bin. The data is automatically restored to the new instance.

Fees for changing the configuration of subscription instances

If you change the configuration of a subscription instance, you may need to pay the price difference or receive a refund.

Upgrade: Select Upgrade Now. You must pay the price difference based on the selected specifications.
Downgrade: Select Downgrade Now. The system refunds the price difference based on the selected specifications.

Example: If the monthly price of the new configuration is CNY 14,400, the monthly price of the old configuration is CNY 7,200, and the remaining subscription duration is 50 days, the payment is (14,400 / 30 / 24 × 50 × 24) - (7,200 / 30 / 24 × 50 × 24) = CNY 12,000.

Subscription

When you purchase a subscription instance, you pay in advance based on the subscription duration. If your business requirements change and you no longer need the subscription instance, you can apply for a refund. Before you apply for a refund, make sure you understand the unsubscription rules. Then, log on to the Unsubscribe page to unsubscribe. When you request a refund, the system calculates the final cost based on your instance usage.

Refunds may also apply in scenarios such as switching billing methods and downgrading instances. For more information, see the relevant documentation.

Switch billing method	After you switch from subscription to pay-as-you-go, the remaining prepayment for the subscription instance is refunded to you. The refund amount is calculated using the following formula: Refund amount = Actual amount paid for the order - Amount consumed
Downgrade a subscription instance	After you change the configuration of a subscription instance, the price difference between the new and old configurations is refunded to you. The refund amount is calculated using the following formula: Refund amount = Actual amount paid for the order - Amount consumed
Cancel renewal	After you renew a subscription instance, if you unsubscribe before the renewal order takes effect, the renewal fee is fully refunded. For more information, see the Unsubscribe from a renewed subscription section in Unsubscription rules.
