Onboarding flow
This topic describes the onboarding flow for device manufacturers to use ID².
Device manufacturer onboarding flowchart

Step 1: Select a plan
| Operation | Description |
| Select a plan | Before using ID², select an integration plan based on the ID² integration pattern and carrier type. |
Step 2: Prepare for integration
- Create an ID² product.
Select the relevant documentation based on your ID² integration pattern.
Operation Description Create an ID² product in the ID² console Use this method to integrate ID² with your own IoT platform or a third-party business system. Create an ID² product in the Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform console Use this method to integrate ID² with Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform and its related platforms. - Obtain authorization for ID²-based authentication.
Operation Form Description Obtain ID²-based authentication authorization Software This applies if you use a Key Management (KM) or Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) solution, or if you purchased ID² security chips from other channels.
ID²-based authentication authorization is the authorization for a device to be activated and authenticated through ID².
If the number of ID²-based authentication authorizations for a specific product under your Alibaba Cloud account is zero, devices cannot be activated for that product.
ID²-based authentication authorization must be associated with a specific product. If you have not created a product, you can create one when you purchase ID².
Step 3: (Optional) Develop the server-side
| Actions | Description |
| Server-side development | Server-side development is required if you integrate ID² with your own platform or a third-party platform. Note If you use Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform and its related products to integrate with ID², skip this step. |
Step 4: Adapt the device-side
Select the relevant documentation based on your ID² carrier type.
| Operation | Description |
| Adapt ID²-SE on a third-party OS | This applies to scenarios where the carrier type is an ID² security chip. |
| Adapt ID²-SE on AliOS Things | This applies to scenarios where the carrier type is an ID² security chip. |
| Adapt ID²-KM on Link SDK | This applies to scenarios without a security chip. |
| Adapt ID² on Link TEE | This applies to scenarios where the carrier type is TEE or Alibaba Cloud IoT Link TEE. |
Step 5: Perform self-verification
| Operation | Description |
| Self-verification | Use the device-side adaptation and verification feature to test and verify the end-to-end ID² link. |
