Web-based Visual Development is a tool in IoT Studio that lets you visually develop web applications without writing code. In the editor, you can drag widgets onto the canvas and configure their display styles, data sources, and interactions to develop applications such as status monitoring dashboards, device management backends, and data analytics reports.

Features

  • Code-free development: Web-based Visual Development seamlessly integrates with the device connectivity and the Thing Specification Language (TSL) model capabilities of IoT Platform. You can call device data, control devices, or build Software as a Service (SaaS) applications without writing code.

  • Fully managed: You do not need to purchase additional servers or databases. After you build an application, you can preview and publish it to the cloud. Once published, you can attach your own domain names.

  • Rich templates: Web-based Visual Development provides a rich library of page templates. You can use these templates to simplify the IoT application development process. After you publish an application, you can attach devices in batches.

Procedure

  1. Create a web application: Create a web application and use the editor to develop it.

  2. For the steps to develop a web application, see the following topics:

    1. Step 1: Create a switch remote control product in a project

    2. Step 2: Build an application to monitor switch status

For information about widget descriptions and configurations, see Widgets.

    3. Step 3: Publish
