Configure a LoRa gateway
Before you can use LoRa devices, you must configure a LoRa gateway to establish the network services required for the Internet of Things (IoT). This topic describes how to configure a LoRa gateway.
Prerequisites
Alibaba Cloud Link WAN is activated.Background information
The configuration steps for a LoRa gateway depend on whether the Link WAN service is enabled for your IoT Platform instance. For more information, see Configure a LoRa gateway.This topic uses a LoRa device in a public instance as an example. For this scenario, you must set up a gateway in Alibaba Cloud Link WAN.
Procedure
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Link WAN console.
- Add a gateway.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Gateway Management page, click the Gateway List tab, and then click Add Gateway.
- Enter the basic and location information for your gateway, and then click Confirm.
For more information about the parameters, see Gateway management. You can find the GwEUI, PIN Code, and frequency band information on the label of your gateway device. - Power on the gateway and connect it to the network.
After a few moments, the gateway status changes to Online. This status indicates that the gateway is connected to the network.
- Add a join permission.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Join Permission.
On the Onboarding page, click Add Dedicated Credential.
- Enter the permission information and click Confirm.

Authorization credential
On the Join Permission page, find the permission that you created and click Grant Permission.
Select Grant to Me and click Confirm.
After you grant the join permission to your current Alibaba Cloud account, you can use the same account to log on to IoT Platform and create LoRa products and devices that use this permission.
