O&M statistics overview

Updated at:

IoT Platform provides an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) statistics service that lets you view aggregated device statistics and analyze devices from multiple perspectives, improving device management and monitoring efficiency.

Features

The O&M statistics feature is available only for Standard and Premium Enterprise instances in the China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Shanghai), and US (Virginia) regions.

  • For data-centric Enterprise instances or Enterprise instances for which DataService Studio is enabled, four services are enabled by default in O&M statistics: device statistics, operating condition statistics, event statistics, and abnormal diagnosis. These services cannot be disabled.

  • For Enterprise instances where DataService Studio is not enabled and for newly purchased Enterprise instances, O&M statistics supports three services: device statistics, operating condition statistics, and event statistics. These services are disabled by default and you must enable them manually.

O&M statistics uses a T+1 model to collect and display device information for all instances in the same region under your Alibaba Cloud account. Data from deleted devices is not collected.

Billing items

Enabling the device, operating condition, and event statistics services consumes computing units (CUs). The following table lists the CU consumption by tier:

Note

You can purchase the required CUs when you purchase an Enterprise instance of IoT Platform. For more information, see Purchase an Enterprise instance.

Tiers by number of activated devices

CUs consumed by device statistics (units/month)

CUs consumed by operating condition statistics (units/month)

CUs consumed by event statistics (units/month)

If the number of activated devices is greater than 100,000, each 100,000 devices constitute a tier: n = number of activated devices / 100,000

Important

If the result is not an integer, round it up.

3 × n

4 × n

4 × n

For example, if you enable only the device statistics service for an Enterprise instance, CUs are consumed based on the number of activated devices as follows:

Number of activated devices

CUs consumed by device statistics (units/month)

6,600

Based on the 5,001-20,000 tier, 1 CU/month is consumed.

66,000

Based on the 50,001-100,000 tier, 3 CUs/month are consumed.

660,000

Each 100,000 devices constitute a tier: 660,000 / 100,000 = 6.6. Rounding up to 7, the CU consumption is 3 × 7, which is 21 CUs/month.

Instructions

  1. Enable statistics services for devices, operating conditions, and events: For Enterprise instances where DataService Studio is not enabled and newly purchased Enterprise instances, you must first enable the O&M statistics service to view the related statistics.

  2. View O&M statistics:

  3. View the status and CU usage of O&M statistics services: Check the service status and CU usage for your current instance.
