Check and scale hot storage on the Lindorm console.

Prerequisites

  • When you purchase an instance, the Storage Type is set to Standard or Performance.

Usage notes

  • When the usage of hot storage (Standard or Performance storage) reaches the specified alerting threshold, an internal message or text message is sent to you for notification. To ensure that you can receive the notification, configure the notification method and recipient. For more information, see Configure alert recipients.

  • If the hot storage usage of a Lindorm instance exceeds 95%, data can no longer be written to the instance. We recommend that you monitor the alerts and configure the alert threshold of storage usage based on your business requirements. For more information about how to configure the alert threshold, see Modify the capacity alert threshold.

  • During a scale-up or scale-down operation, the instance status is RESIZING or Scaling In. During this period, you cannot perform other management operations, such as activating services or changing specifications. You can resume normal use after the instance status changes to Running.

    Important

The scale-in storage operation requires an extended period of time to complete. We recommend that you perform the scale-in storage operation during off-peak hours.

  • For instances whose Storage Type is Local SSD or Big Data, if the disk capacity is insufficient, you can expand the disk capacity by adding nodes. For more information, see Change instance nodes.
