Free trial quotas for new users
After you register an Alibaba Cloud account and complete identity verification, you can try MaxCompute for free if you have not purchased any MaxCompute products. The free trial provides a quota for compute usage and Standard storage. This topic describes the free trial quota types and supported regions.
Introduction to free trial quotas
The MaxCompute free trial package includes a compute resource plan and a storage resource plan. These plans cover compute and Standard storage costs for the pay-as-you-go Standard Edition and the pay-as-you-go idle-time edition of MaxCompute. They do not cover costs for downloads or subscription editions.
MaxCompute provides the following free quotas:

After the compute resource plan is exhausted or the trial period ends, subsequent compute usage is billed on a standard pay-as-you-go basis. For more information, see Compute costs (pay-as-you-go).
After the free trial period ends, you are charged for Standard storage. If your storage usage exceeds the free quota during the trial period, the excess usage is also charged. For more information about Standard storage billing, see Storage costs.
Deductions from MaxCompute compute and storage resource plans are not applied in real time. The plan's quota is used to cover your usage only after the bills for each billable item are generated. For more information about the billing rules for each item, see Compute costs (pay-as-you-go) and Storage costs.
To prevent service interruptions, unavailability, or unexpected costs if your usage exceeds the free quota, you can set up balance alerts for your resource plans. When the remaining balance of a resource plan falls below a preset threshold, the system automatically sends you a notification by text message, email, and internal message. This helps you adjust your resource configuration or purchase a new resource plan as needed. For more information, see Set balance alerts for resource plans.

Solution: Visit the DataWorks console once. You do not need to activate any permissions. Then, apply for the MaxCompute free trial.
