This topic describes how to view MaxCompute consumption and usage details and provides best practices for cost analysis in typical scenarios.

Consumption details

MaxCompute generates bills on a daily basis. In the navigation pane on the left of the Expenses and Costs console, click Bill Overview to view monthly bill summaries.

You can also learn how to analyze MaxCompute consumption details. For more information, see Analyze MaxCompute consumption details.

  • View consumption details for each pay-as-you-go billing item by day.

    1. Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Fees > Bill > Bill Details.

    3. Set Bill Generation Date to By Day.

    4. Select MaxCompute for Product Name to view daily consumption details for each MaxCompute billing item.

      Other filter options are described as follows:

      • Asset Name / Resource Instance ID (Billing Granularity): Billing unit. Pay-as-you-go MaxCompute bills use one of the following three billing granularities:

        • Standard computing, storage, and download billing items are billed per project and region combination each day.

        • Spot computing billing items (Spot jobs) are billed per project and region combination each day.

        • Elastic reserved CU billing items are billed per primary quota and region combination each hour.

      • Line Item Type: Includes all currently chargeable computing, storage, download, and quota-based pay-as-you-go billing items.

      • Usage, Usage Unit, and Official Price Formula:

        For Standard storage, take the average of the total storage measured across the current project during the day, divided by 24.

        • If the actual data storage volume of the project is greater than 0 MB and less than or equal to 512 MB:

          • Public cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.01/GB/day)

          • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.019/GB/day)

        Backup Storage

        Take the average of the total backup storage measured across the current project during the day, divided by 24.

        • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.0076/GB/day)

        Elastic Reserved CU

        Take the total value of all elastic reserved CUs under the primary quota.

        • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.5985/CU/hour)

        Public Network Outbound Traffic

        Take the total volume of data successfully downloaded from the current project over the public network during the day.

        SQL Job Computing

        Take the sum of input data volume × complexity for all successful standard SQL tasks executed using pay-as-you-go Standard Edition compute quotas in the current project during the day.

        Byte

        • If daily usage is less than or equal to 100 TB:

          • Public cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.3/GB)

          • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.57/GB)

        • If daily usage is greater than 100 TB and less than or equal to 500 TB:

          • Public cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.285/GB)

          • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.5415/GB)

        • If daily usage exceeds 500 TB, the excess portion is priced as follows:

          • Public cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.27/GB)

          • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.513/GB)

        OSS External Table Computing

        Take the total input data volume for all successful SQL tasks that compute OSS external tables using pay-as-you-go Standard Edition compute quotas in the current project during the day.

        • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 0.057/GB)

        Tablestore External Table Computing

        Take the total input data volume for all successful SQL tasks that compute Tablestore external tables using pay-as-you-go Standard Edition compute quotas in the current project during the day.

        Spark Job Computing

        Take the total billable hours consumed by all successful Spark tasks executed using pay-as-you-go Standard Edition compute quotas in the current project during the day.

        Mars Job Computing

        Take the total billable hours consumed by all successful Mars tasks executed using pay-as-you-go Standard Edition compute quotas in the current project during the day.

        • Finance Cloud: usage × price (CNY 1.254/billable hour)

        MapReduce Job Computing

        Take the total billable hours consumed by all successful MapReduce tasks in the current project during the day.

        Spot SQL Job Computing

        Take the sum of input data volume × complexity for all successful SQL tasks executed using pay-as-you-go Spot Edition compute quotas in the current project during the day.

        Spot Spark Job Computing

        Spot MapReduce Job Computing

        Developer Edition SQL Job Computing

        Take the total input data volume for all successful SQL tasks executed using Developer Edition resources in the current project during the day.

        Note

        The pay-as-you-go Developer Edition is no longer available for new purchases and was discontinued at 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. For more information, see Announcement on Discontinuation of Certain MaxCompute Offerings (September 23, 2022).

  • View consumption details for each subscription billing item.

    1. Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Fees > Bill > Bill Details.

    3. Set Bill Generation Date to By Day.

    4. Select MaxCompute for Product Name to view daily consumption details for each MaxCompute billing item.

      Descriptions are as follows:

      • Asset Name / Resource Instance ID (Billing Granularity): Billing unit. For subscription MaxCompute, the billing unit is the primary quota. A single billing event occurs for new purchases, upgrades, downgrades, or renewals.

      • Line Item Type: Refers to the various resource billing items that incur charges.

      • Usage, Usage Unit, and Official Price Formula:

        Note

        Subscription-based non-reserved compute resources (Storage-Intensive 160 Package, Storage-Intensive 320 Package, and Storage-Intensive 600 Package) are no longer available for new purchases and were discontinued at 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Usage details

You can download detailed daily usage information from Usage Details or to understand your billing details—for example, which tasks incurred storage or computing charges each day. For detailed instructions on downloading and analyzing this data, see Analyze MaxCompute bill usage details.

Note

You can also obtain MaxCompute usage records through the metering API. For instructions on using the metering API, see Query product metering records. The MaxCompute metering tables are ODPS (pay-as-you-go) and ODPSDataPlus (subscription).
