PrivateLink cross-region connections now support cross-border access

The native cross-region connection capability of PrivateLink has been extended to support cross-border access. With this feature, you can build global private access channels that connect services across regions:

When you create a cross-region endpoint connection between Chinese mainland and regions outside Chinese mainland, the traffic involves cross-border network communication carried over the China Unicom cross-border dedicated line. The following compliance requirements apply:

• Qualification: You must complete cross-border compliance certification before using this feature. Submit your application materials on the China Unicom cross-border cloud dedicated line online application page to obtain cross-border business qualifications.

• Compliance commitment: You must sign a cross-border compliance commitment letter when you create a cross-region endpoint, confirming that cross-border traffic is used only for enterprise internal office and legitimate business communications. Using cross-border traffic to access illegal overseas websites or conduct unpermitted telecommunications business is strictly prohibited.

Bandwidth throttling for an endpoint connection now supports a Gateway Load Balancer endpoint (GWLBe). By setting a bandwidth limit on an endpoint connection, service providers can control traffic and protect their backend service resources from overload.

Cross-region connection

PrivateLink now natively supports cross-region connections. Service consumers can use an interface endpoint to privately access Alibaba Cloud services, partner services, or their own custom services across regions without configuring a VPC peering connection or Cloud Enterprise Network.

• Service providers can enable cross-region sharing in an endpoint service and specify which regions can connect.

• To connect to an endpoint service in another region, service consumers can enable the cross-region endpoint option when creating an interface endpoint.
