IP address whitelist

When you use Quick BI for data analysis, you often store sensitive internal data, such as business reports, operations analysis reports, and customer information, on the Quick BI platform. To ensure data security, you must ensure that users access Quick BI only from trusted network environments authorized by your enterprise.

You can configure the ip address whitelist to specify which IP addresses are allowed to access the Quick BI platform. Access from any IP address not on the whitelist is denied. This enhances access security and prevents data leaks. This topic describes how to configure an IP address whitelist.

Limitations

Only the Professional Edition supports the IP address whitelist feature.

Access

On the Quick BI homepage, navigate to the ip address whitelist configuration page as shown in the figure below. On this page, you can configure the ip address whitelist and the user allowlist.

IP address whitelist configuration

  1. In the input box under ip address whitelist configuration, enter the IP addresses allowed to access the Quick BI platform.image You can enter a specific IP address or a CIDR block.

    • specific IP address: Enter an IPv4 address that uniquely identifies a single device, such as 10.23.12.24. This method is suitable for authorizing a small number of fixed devices.

    • CIDR block: Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR). Enter a continuous range of IP addresses (a network segment) in the format IP address/prefix length, for example, 10.23.12.0/24. The prefix length, /24 in this case, can range from 1 to 32. This example authorizes the IP address range 10.23.12.0-10.23.12.255. This method is suitable for authorizing an entire network segment.

    Note
    • Organization administrators are not affected by the IP address whitelist.

    • Only public IP addresses are supported. Separate multiple IP addresses with commas. Duplicate addresses are not allowed, and you can add up to 1,000 entries.

    • Adding 0.0.0.0/0 to the whitelist allows access from all IP addresses. This action poses a high security risk and should be used with caution.

  2. Click Save to save your configuration. The system then blocks logins and resource access from any IP address not included on the whitelist.image

User allowlist

Click the selection box (①) under user allowlist. From the drop-down list (②), select the users or user groups to exempt from the IP address whitelist policy. Click a blank area to save the settings and close the list. Users and user groups on the allowlist are exempt from this policy and can access Quick BI from any network.

Note

Organization administrators are exempt by default.
