Smart Access Gateway supports Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for dynamic routing. This topic shows you how to configure BGP for an SAG device in the Smart Access Gateway console.
Prerequisites
Your SAG device is an SAG-1000 model. Background information
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is a routing protocol that runs on TCP to exchange routing information between autonomous systems (AS). When two autonomous systems need to exchange routes, each system must designate a BGP-enabled node to act on its behalf. BGP provides a secure, flexible, stable, reliable, and efficient way to manage inter-AS routing. In large-scale networks, BGP is commonly used to propagate and control routing information among autonomous systems. The BGP routing feature of your SAG device lets you connect your private network to Alibaba Cloud with no changes to your network topology and minimal configuration.
Procedure
- Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
- Go to the Device Settings page using one of the following methods:
- Click the ID of the target Smart Access Gateway instance. On the instance details page, click Device Settings.
- Find the target Smart Access Gateway instance and in the Operation column, select .
- On the Device Settings page, click the Manage Routes tab.
- In the BGP Protocol Settings section, click Edit.
- In the Configure BGP Route Protocol dialog box, set the parameters.
Parameter Description Local AS The autonomous system number of the SAG device. Valid values: 1 to 2147483647.
Router ID The BGP router ID for the SAG device. The router ID must be in IPv4 address format. For example, 192.168.1.1.
Hold Time The hold time in seconds. Valid values: 3 to 65535.
Note When establishing a BGP peer relationship, both devices must negotiate and use the same hold time. If the SAG device does not receive akeepaliveorUPDATEmessage from its peer within the specifiedhold time, the BGP connection is terminated.Keep Alive The interval, in seconds, for sending keepalivemessages.Valid values: 0 to 65535.
- In the Dynamic Routing Settings section, select Enable BGP Protocol.
- In the Operation column for the target port, click Edit.
- In the Modify BGP Dynamic Routing Settings dialog box, select an option and then click OK.
- BGP Protocol: Enables the BGP routing protocol on the port. You must enter the peer IP address and peer AS number.
- Disabled: Disables the BGP routing protocol on the port.
