Supported upgrade and downgrade items

Important
  • Services not listed in the following downgrade types cannot be downgraded, such as Security Center editions and the cloud honeypot service. To downgrade an edition or reduce cloud honeypot authorizations, schedule the change for the next billing cycle through renewal with specification change. The current billing cycle is not affected. For renewal with specification change, see Manual renewal .

  • Starting from November 14, 2024 (UTC+8), upgrading or downgrading the Agentic SOC value-added service requires minimum quantities and step sizes for log ingestion traffic and log storage capacity. The purchase quantity must be no less than the minimum quantity and must meet the step size requirement before you can proceed with the upgrade or downgrade. For more information, see [Notice] Agentic SOC Sales Policy Adjustment.

  • If you need to upgrade (increase value-added service quotas or purchase new value-added services) and downgrade (cancel another value-added service) at the same time, perform the upgrade and downgrade operations separately.

Scenarios

Upgrade

Upgrade the service edition (from a lower edition to a higher edition: Anti-virus, Premium, Enterprise, or Ultimate)

Your current edition cannot meet your needs and you need to upgrade to a higher edition for more comprehensive protection.

Increase the Protected Servers or compute cores of a Security Center instance

The Protected Servers or compute cores of your current Security Center instance is insufficient. You need to purchase more Protected Servers or compute cores.

Note

After you purchase a Security Center instance using the all-asset coverage method, if the Protected Servers or compute cores of the instance is less than the number of servers or compute cores in your Alibaba Cloud account, upgrade the instance promptly to expand the authorizations. A prompt appears in the upper-right corner of the Overview page in the console.

Purchase value-added services

After purchasing a Security Center subscription instance, you need to purchase value-added services such as web tamper proofing, anti-ransomware, container image scan, and application protection.

Increase purchased value-added service quotas

After purchasing value-added services, you need to increase the log storage capacity, anti-ransomware capacity, or tamper-proofing authorizations.

Downgrade

Decrease the Protected Servers or compute cores

After purchasing a Security Center instance, if you have unattached Protected Servers or compute cores, you can release them by downgrading.

Note

After you purchase a Security Center instance using the all-asset coverage method, if you have unused and unneeded Protected Servers or compute cores, you can downgrade. After the downgrade, the Protected Servers and compute cores must be no less than the number of servers or compute cores in your Alibaba Cloud account.

Cancel purchased value-added services

You have purchased value-added services such as web tamper proofing or anti-ransomware, but no longer need them.

Important

To cancel tamper-proofing, set the tamper-proofing authorization count to 0 and disable the tamper-proofing feature during the configuration change.

Decrease purchased value-added service quotas

After purchasing value-added services, you need to decrease the log storage capacity, anti-ransomware capacity, tamper-proofing authorizations, Cloud Honeypot count, or application protection authorizations.

Note

When a Security Center instance is released, its logs are automatically cleared.
