Use ApsaraDB for SelectDB Serverless
ApsaraDB for SelectDB Serverless provides automatic elastic scaling of resources. You do not need to manage servers. You pay only for what you use. It automatically scales compute and cache resources based on actual workload, helping to resolve performance bottlenecks caused by insufficient resources during peak business hours and reducing costs from idle resources during off-peak hours. This lets you focus on business tasks such as data processing and analysis. This topic describes how to create and manage ApsaraDB for SelectDB Serverless instances.
Prerequisites
To create a SelectDB instance as a Resource Access Management (RAM) user, the RAM user must have the AliyunSelectDBFullAccess permission. For more information about how to grant permissions, see Manage RAM user permissions.

On the Instance List page, click Create Instance.
On the purchase page, set Product Type to Serverless.
Configure the instance parameters as prompted. The following table describes the parameters for cluster elastic scaling.
Parameter
Description
Example
Number of compute nodes
The number of compute nodes in the cluster.
2
Maximum elastic capacity of a single compute node
When a node is vertically scaled, it scales up or down within this range.
8
Minimum elastic capacity of a single compute node
4
Single-node Cache Configuration (default)
The cache capacity of a node. The cache capacity of the cluster is determined by the cache size of a single node and the number of nodes.
