Manage a plan
If an administrator configures an approval constraint for a product, the constraint is triggered when you launch the product, update a product instance, or terminate a product instance as an end user. You must create a plan and get approval before you can proceed. This topic uses launching a product as an example to show how to create, review, cancel, and execute a plan.
Background information
For more information about how to create an approval constraint, see Manage an approval constraint.
Create a plan
- Log on to the Service Catalog console as an end user.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Products.
- On the Products page, find the product that you want to launch and click Launch product in the Operation column.
- After configuring the product launch parameters, click Create Plan.
For more information about how to launch a product, see Launch a product.
- In the Create Plan dialog box, enter the PlanName and Description.
- Click Confirm.
Review a plan
After you create a plan, an approver must approve it before you can launch the product. Administrators specify approvers when creating an approval constraint. An approver can be the administrator or another end user.
- Log on to the Service Catalog console as an approver.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Plans.
- On the ReceivedRequests tab, find the target plan and click Approve or Reject in the Operation column.
Cancel a plan
You can cancel a plan that has not been executed.
- Log on to the Service Catalog console as an end user.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Plans.
- On the My Plan tab, find the plan that you want to cancel and click Cancel in the Operation column.
- In the Cancel dialog box, click Confirm.
Execute a plan
After a plan is approved, execute it to perform the corresponding operation.
- Log on to the Service Catalog console as an end user.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Plans.
- On the My Plan tab, find the plan that you want to execute and click Execute in the Operation column.
- In the Execute dialog box, click Confirm.
Once the plan is executed, the system creates the product instance. You can view instance details on the Instances page.
