This topic describes the billable items and billing examples for Simple Application Server, Lightweight Application Load Balancer, Lightweight Container Service, and Lightweight Database Service.

Simple application server

excess data transfer (optional)	If your plan shows Unlimited for data transfer, no excess data transfer fees apply. For legacy plans that include a monthly data transfer quota, you are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis for any data transfer that exceeds the quota. snapshot (free)	A snapshot is a backup file that captures the data state of a disk at a specific point in time. Snapshots are commonly used for daily data backups, recovery from accidental operations or cyberattacks, and creating custom images. Note Creating snapshots is free. However, the maximum number of snapshots you can create is three times the number of your Simple Application Server instances, up to a maximum of 15.	Free	N/A
custom image (free)	A custom image is an image that you create from a snapshot of a Simple Application Server instance. You can use a custom image to create multiple instances with the same configuration. You can also share a custom image to ECS and use the shared image to create ECS instances or replace their operating systems. Important Creating custom images is free. However, the maximum number of custom images you can create is three times the number of your Simple Application Server instances, up to a maximum of 15.	Free	N/A
shared image	You can share a custom image to ECS. If the shared image comes from an instance that used an application image, billing for the image depends on the billing method of the ECS instance you create from it: If you use the shared image to create a subscription ECS instance, you are charged for the image. Example 3: Plan fee + excess data transfer fee	You purchase a plan that has a monthly data transfer quota and you exceed the quota. No data disk is attached. A Simple Application Server instance is deployed in the China (Hangzhou) region with no data disk attached. The instance exhausts its plan's data transfer quota and consumes an additional 8 GB of data. Excess data transfer: 8 GB Data transfer unit price: CNY 0.8/GB	Total fee = Plan fee × Subscription duration + Data transfer unit price × Excess data transfer The fee for the excess data transfer in this example is calculated as follows: `0.8*8=6.4` CNY

FAQ

Will I be charged for data transfer?

Before you make a purchase, check the plan details:

If the Public Data Transfer Package field for a plan shows Unlimited, the data transfer fee is included in the plan fee and no additional fees are incurred.
If a plan includes a fixed monthly data transfer quota, you are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis for usage that exceeds the quota. For more information about the rates, see the billable items section.

After you make a purchase, check your server:

Log on to the Simple Application Server console, find the desired server, and click the instance ID on the server card.

On the Server Overview page, view the Server Monitoring section. If the Data Transfer metric is displayed, your plan has a fixed quota. After the quota is used up, you are charged for excess data transfer on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information about the rates, see the billable items section.

If the metric is not displayed, the data transfer fee is included in your plan fee and no additional fees are incurred.

Data transfer limits and overage billing

To check for a data transfer limit, log on to the Simple Application Server console, find the desired server, and click its instance ID.

On the Server Overview page, check the Server Monitoring section. The presence of a Data Transfer metric indicates your plan has a fixed quota. Once this quota is exhausted, you are charged for excess data transfer on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information about the rates, see the billable items section.

If this metric is not present, your plan includes unlimited data transfer, and no extra fees are incurred.
