Create a server from a custom image-Simple Application Server(SAS)-阿里云帮助中心

Create one or more Simple Application Server instances from a pre-configured custom image with the same or higher specifications.

Prerequisites

You have created a custom image. For more information, see Create a custom image.

Notes

Note the following items:

A custom image can only be used to create instances in the same region.
When you create a server from a custom image, the system disk and data disk cannot be smaller than the corresponding disks of the source image.

Note
If you share a custom image that contains a data disk, the data disk is not included in the recipient's shared image.
Do not perform the following operations while the instance is being created. Otherwise, the creation fails:
- Delete the custom image.
- Delete the source snapshot of the custom image.
- Reset the system or replace the image of the source Simple Application Server instance.
- Release the source Simple Application Server instance.
After a custom image is released or deleted, servers created from it cannot be reset.

Procedure

You can create a Simple Application Server instance by using either of the following methods.

Method 1: Create from an image

Go to the Image page in the Simple Application Server console.
In the Actions column of the target custom image, choose Create Simple Application Server.

On the purchase page, configure the server parameters.

The system automatically sets the Region and Image parameters based on the custom image. Configure the remaining parameters as needed.

Parameter	Description
Plan configuration	The system recommends a default plan based on the system disk size of your custom image. You can select a plan with higher specifications. Outbound traffic that exceeds the plan quota is billed separately. For more information, see Billing overview.
Data Disk	Optional. Add a data disk of a custom size if your business requires more storage. Note If the custom image includes a data disk, the default value of the Data Disk parameter is greater than or equal to the size of the data disk in the custom image.
Duration	Select a subscription duration. To enable auto-renewal, select Enable Auto-renewal.
Quantity	The number of servers to purchase. Default value: 1.

Click Buy Now and complete the purchase to create the server.

Method 2: Select a custom image

Go to the Servers page in the Simple Application Server console.
Click Create Server.

On the purchase page, configure the server.

Note

If your custom image contains a data disk, click Back to Old Version in the upper-right corner of the purchase page and complete the purchase.

The following table describes the parameters.

Parameter	Description
Region	Select the region where the custom image resides. Important Servers in regions outside the Chinese mainland, such as China (Hong Kong) and Singapore, use international bandwidth. You may experience high network latency when accessing these servers from the Chinese mainland. For more information, see Regions and network connectivity.
Servers	The system disk capacity of the selected instance must be greater than or equal to the system disk capacity of the custom image. Select an instance family: Options include general-purpose, Multi-IP, International, and Large-capacity. Instance families. Select a plan: Click to view more plans. Each plan bundles vCPUs, memory, a system disk, and a data transfer plan. Instance specifications. Important To create a Windows instance, select a plan that provides a system disk larger than 40 GiB.
Image	Click the Custom Images tab and select the custom image.
Purchase Settings	Quantity: the number of instances to purchase. Default: 1. Duration: the subscription duration. Default: 1 month. Important Instances hosting web services in the Chinese mainland require an ICP filing with a subscription duration of 3 months or longer (including renewals). Domain name filing. Monthly subscription: 1 month, 3 months, or 6 months. Yearly subscription: 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years. Enable Auto-renewal is enabled by default to prevent disruptions from expired subscriptions. Auto-renewal. For monthly subscriptions, the renewal period is one month. For yearly subscriptions, the renewal period is one year.

Click Buy Now and complete the purchase to create the server.
