Add 5G message materials
5G message materials are the images, audio, and video files that a rich media message references. Upload and manage these materials in the Media Library of the 5G message console. This topic describes how to upload materials, track carrier review status, delete materials, and the limits and validity rules that apply.
Usage notes
Review the following rules before you upload 5G message materials:
Carrier review — Carriers review every material that a rich media message references. A material that is not approved cannot be used in a rich media message.
Material validity — After a material passes the review, use it to send a message within 30 days. A material that is not used within 30 days expires, and an expired material cannot be used.
Limits
Material capacity and quantity per 5G message signature
The following capacity and quantity limits apply to the materials of each 5G message signature.
Limit | Value |
Total capacity | Up to 450 MB |
Total quantity | Up to 100 materials |
Materials that are expired, deleted, or not approved are not counted toward the material capacity or the material quantity.
File name extensions and size limits
The following file name extensions and size limits apply to 5G message materials. File name extensions are case-insensitive.
Type | File name extension | Size limit |
Image | jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp | 10 MB |
Audio | mp3, amr, m4a, aac | |
Video | mp4 | |
File | Not available | — |
The following file name extensions and size limit apply to 5G message thumbnails.
Type | File name extension | Size limit |
Thumbnail | jpg, jpeg, png, bmp | 64 KB |
Upload a material
Go to 5G Message console > Media Library.
Click Upload Material, and then upload the materials that you need.
Upload a thumbnail together with each video or audio material. Thumbnails let message recipients load the message content more smoothly. For the file name extensions and size limit of thumbnails, see Limits.
Check the review status
After the upload finishes, view the review status of each material in the Media Library. Review status is tracked per carrier and per product type, so one material can have multiple status entries. A review takes about 1 hour.
You can delete a material in the Media Library at any time.
After you delete a material, you cannot use it or restore it. Delete materials with caution.
