This document describes the process and impact when a Tablestore instance has an overdue payment or expires.

An overdue payment or instance expiration can cause instance downtime and poses a risk of data deletion. The system sends reminder notifications. We recommend that you renew your instance in a timely manner to ensure service continuity. To configure permissions for a RAM user to receive overdue payment notifications, see How to set up overdue payment alerts.

Overdue payments

An overdue payment occurs when your account balance is insufficient or exceeds your credit limit, and you are no longer covered by service suspension protection.

Alibaba Cloud provides service suspension protection to ensure service continuity and stability. When a pay-as-you-go product has an overdue payment, this protection lets you continue using the Alibaba Cloud service within a specific quota or period. Billing continues as usual during this period. The protection quota is automatically calculated and updated monthly based on factors such as your historical spending. This quota is not the upper limit for overdue payments. For more information, see Service Suspension Protection.

Description

VCU mode (formerly reserved mode), CU mode (formerly pay-as-you-go mode)

If your account has an overdue payment, the instance stops immediately and billing stops.

If you add funds to your account to cover the overdue amount within 15 days after the service stops, the service automatically resumes and billing restarts.

The instance is released 15 days after the service stops.

After the instance is released, its data cannot be recovered.

After you add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account to cover the overdue amount, the system automatically deducts the outstanding Tablestore charges. If your instance was suspended due to an overdue payment, the service automatically resumes and billing restarts once the overdue amount is cleared.

Expiration

Data storage fees and outbound public traffic fees for VCU mode instances are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis.
