Example

Voice notification

Voice Service calls a specified phone number through an API and plays a preset audio message after the call is answered. Both text-to-speech (TTS) and pre-recorded audio files are supported.

Voice notifications complement SMS by providing an additional channel to reach users promptly.

Commonly used for order reminders, risk alerts, fault notifications, delivery updates, and refund reminders.

Dear ${mcUserName}, your cloud communication account balance is low. Please renew your subscription as soon as possible to avoid service suspension.

Voice verification code

Voice Service calls a specified phone number through an API and plays an audio message containing a verification code after the call is answered.

Voice verification codes reach users faster than SMS and help prevent fraudulent activities such as order brushing.

Commonly used for security verification, such as obtaining verification codes.

Dear ${mcUserName}, the verification code for your current login is ${Number}.

Voice IVR (Interactive Voice Response)

Voice Service calls a specified phone number through an API and plays a preset audio message after the call is answered. The user follows the audio prompts and presses keys to indicate their intent. The voice platform returns the key press information to the business system through message receipts. IVR interaction automates intent confirmation and reduces manual effort.

Commonly used for order confirmation, questionnaire surveys, and satisfaction surveys for mobile users.

  • Caller: Hello, dear ${mcUserName}. This is the XX Brand Merchant Division. We are conducting a customer satisfaction survey about our service. Please indicate your satisfaction level: Press 1 if you are satisfied with our service. Press 2 if your experience was average. Press 3 if you are dissatisfied.

  • Called party: You can press 1.

  • Caller: Hang up the call.

Intelligent Speech Interaction

Intelligent Speech Interaction is built on speech recognition, speech synthesis, and natural language understanding. It enables products to listen, speak, and understand users, delivering an intelligent human-machine interaction experience across various business scenarios. It applies to intelligent Q&A, intelligent quality inspection, real-time court transcription, live speech subtitles, and interview recording transcription, with use cases spanning finance, insurance, judiciary, and e-commerce.

Commonly used for outbound calls, cloud customer service, intelligent quality inspection, and AI chat robots. It automatically dials and intelligently interacts, improving outbound call efficiency and quickly reducing labor costs for enterprises.

  • Caller: Dear ${mcUserName}, we have an important meeting right now. Are you available to attend?

  • The callee responds, “Okay.”

  • The caller recognizes the response and takes action accordingly.

Outbound Bot / Inbound Bot

Important

The Outbound Bot feature is upgraded. The old feature will stop service on December 31, 2023. For new features, log on to Artificial Intelligence Cloud Call Service and enable it on the Outbound Bot page. Old customers who have enabled this feature for Voice Service can still use it. To avoid business losses, complete the business migration before December 31, 2023.

Currently, Outbound Bot does not support inbound calls.

Enterprises can build inbound voice robots based on the Intelligent Speech Interaction inbound capability. This is commonly used for intelligent voice customer service scenarios, such as self-service restaurant ordering and self-service logistics order placement.

-

Intelligent outbound calls allow you to use an API to initiate a call, during which a robot plays preset content. After the user answers, the cloud communication platform recognizes the response, converts it to text, and returns the text to you. Based on your business logic, you can then send a response, such as an audio clip or text, back to the platform for playback. With the Intelligent Speech Interaction product, you can quickly build an outbound robot. You do not need to manage the underlying capabilities. Instead, you can focus on intent recognition and script orchestration to build your own custom outbound robot. Automated outbound calls can handle repetitive tasks, such as phone notifications and intent confirmations, which reduces manual effort and improves outbound call efficiency.

Enterprises can build outbound voice robots based on Intelligent Speech Interaction outbound products. Common interaction forms include voice notifications or intent confirmation scenarios, such as pre-delivery calls.

Shared mode and dedicated mode

Comparison item

Common mode

Dedicated mode

Applicable scenarios

Supports only voice call and Captcha. Does not support intelligent voice bots or Intelligent Speech Interaction. For more information, see Scenarios.

Supports common scenarios in most cases.

Note

Available scenarios depend on your qualifications and other conditions.

Activation requirements

No number application is required. This mode uses random numbers from the shared number pool for outbound calls.

You must apply for real phone numbers and use them for outbound calls. You can bind multiple real numbers to one service instance. When you make an outbound call through the service instance, it schedules one of the bound real numbers for the call.

Outbound Number Concurrency

Both the shared number pool and numbers purchased in dedicated mode have a maximum concurrent number. If you exceed this limit, calls will fail. You must make calls within the specified concurrency limits.

Concurrent number: The maximum number of simultaneous outbound calls allowed for a single outbound number.

Because common mode uses random numbers from the shared pool, its concurrency rules are not fixed.

For mobile numbers in dedicated mode, the maximum concurrent number is 3. For landline numbers, it is 15.

The concurrent number is set by the carrier. Settings may vary across carriers. You can check the actual value on the Real Number Management page in the console.

Usage methods

You can use voice calls or voice verification codes in the following ways:

API operations only.

You can use voice calls or voice Captchas in the following ways:

  • API operations are supported.

  • Log on to the Voice Service console. Then go to Voice Message > Task Center > Create Messaging Task.

Unregister

No number unregistration is required.

If you no longer need a number, unregister it promptly on the Voice Service console Voice Number > Real Number Management page.

Note

You must wait at least three months after activation before you can unregister a real number.

Costs

Common mode supports pay-as-you-go and plan packages. For more information, see Pricing for China Voice Service.

Dedicated mode incurs an additional monthly number rental fee. For more information, see Pricing for China Voice Service.
