To use Alibaba Cloud Workspace services, such as Elastic Desktop Service (EDS) and App Streaming, download and install the desktop client (Windows client/macOS client).

To install the client for the first time, follow these steps.

  1. Download the client that matches your device type and operating system from the Alibaba Cloud Workspace client download page.

    • Windows client: Supports 64-bit Windows 7 or later.

    • macOS client: Supports macOS 10.15 or later.

  2. Once the download is complete, double-click the installation file and follow the on-screen prompts to install the client.

Update the client

If the client is already installed, you can check its version number, release notes, and available updates.

  1. Choose an option based on your login status:

    • Before logging in: On the client login page, click the ... (More) icon in the upper-right corner and select About.

    • After logging in: On the cloud resources list page, click your account avatar in the upper-right corner and select About.

  2. In the window that appears, you can see the current version number. Click Check for Update.

Next steps

After installation, you can log in to the client to use and manage your cloud resources. For more information, see Sign in to the desktop client.

FAQ

Does the macOS client support native ARM64 architecture?

No. There is no native ARM64 build of the macOS desktop client. On Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs, the client runs through Rosetta 2 (x86 translation). On Intel-based Macs, the client runs natively as an x86 application.
