Delete a custom image

Prerequisites

• The image must be a custom image. You cannot delete system images, shared images, or community images.

• The image must be in the Available state. You cannot delete an image in the Creating, Copying, or any other intermediate state.

• The image must not be shared with other Alibaba Cloud accounts. If the image is shared, you must first unshare it. For more information, see Share or unshare a custom image.

• The image must not be used by any computer pool. If it is used by a computer pool, you must first change the image of the computer pool. For more information, see Change the image of a cloud computer or a computer pool.

Impacts of image deletion

Before you delete a custom image, review the following impacts:

• Cloud computers created from the image are not affected and continue to run normally.

• If the image is used by a custom cloud computer template, deleting the image also deletes the template.

• If the image is used by cloud computers, deleting the image has the following impacts:

  • A scheduled reset task for a cloud computer that uses the image will fail.

  • You cannot create a new scheduled reset task for the cloud computer from the deleted image.
