Scenarios
Basic bandwidth
Shared dynamic IP. The IP address may change after you restart or rebuild the cloud computer.
The cloud computers use the Alibaba Cloud self-built network. You cannot select specific ISP lines such as China Telecom, China Unicom, or China Mobile.
Scenarios that do not involve heavy traffic or require high network speed.
Premium bandwidth
Dedicated static IP. The IP address does not change when you restart or rebuild the cloud computer.
The cloud computers use the Alibaba Cloud self-built network. You cannot select specific ISP lines such as China Telecom, China Unicom, or China Mobile.
Business scenarios that require stable bandwidth, or scenarios that require a static public IP.
Note
Additional information:
IP environment: The public IP of a cloud computer belongs to an Alibaba Cloud data center, not a residential broadband IP. Some third-party platforms (such as Tencent services and e-commerce platforms) may identify this IP as a VPS or abnormal environment, which may trigger risk control restrictions.
Personal Edition vs. Enterprise Edition: Personal Edition supports only shared dynamic IP addresses and does not support fixed egress IP regions. Enterprise Edition requires premium bandwidth to obtain a dedicated static IP.
Multi-IP isolation: To assign a separate public IP to each cloud computer, create multiple office networks and bind a different premium bandwidth instance to each office network.
Important
If the cloud computer is in a Outside Chinese Mainland region, cloud computers not bound to premium bandwidth cannot access the internet.
Billing
Premium public bandwidth incurs charges. For details about billing, see Billing overview.
Billing and resource release notes
Resource independence: Premium public bandwidth is a billing resource independent of cloud computer instances. Deleting, unsubscribing from, or allowing a cloud computer to expire does not automatically release the associated premium bandwidth. You must manually delete or unsubscribe from the premium bandwidth.
Fixed bandwidth billing: Under this billing method, charges are based on the peak bandwidth and usage duration. Charges apply regardless of whether the cloud computer is powered on, powered off, in sleep mode, or how much traffic is actually used. As long as the premium bandwidth instance exists, billing continues.
Traffic billing direction:
Pay-by-traffic billing: Only inbound traffic (uploading to the cloud computer) is charged. Outbound traffic (downloading from the cloud computer to your local device or browsing the web) is free.
Fixed bandwidth billing: Charges are based only on the peak bandwidth. Inbound and outbound traffic are not differentiated. Billing continues on an hourly basis regardless of whether traffic is generated.
Charges apply even when unbound: Under the fixed bandwidth billing method, charges still apply even when the premium bandwidth is in the Unbound state. Delete or unsubscribe from premium bandwidth that you no longer use.
Stop billing:
Pay-as-you-go bandwidth: You must manually delete the bandwidth to stop billing.
Subscription bandwidth: You must unsubscribe from the bandwidth.
Billing delay: After you delete premium bandwidth, bills may be delayed by one day (T+1). It is normal for charges to appear on the following day.
Accidental purchase: If you created a premium bandwidth instance during the ordering process but no longer need it, delete it to avoid unnecessary charges.
Enable premium bandwidth
After you enable premium bandwidth, the office network's public bandwidth automatically switches from basic to premium bandwidth, and public network access control is set to allow all internet access. All cloud computers in the office network can access the internet. To enable premium public bandwidth:
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Networks & Storage > Premium Bandwidth Plan.
In the top navigation bar, select a region.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, click Enable Premium Bandwidth.
In the Enable Premium Bandwidth panel, configure the parameters and click Activate Now.
Parameter
Description
Billing method
Select a billing method for the premium bandwidth.
Region
The premium bandwidth must be in the same region as your cloud computer. For example, if the cloud computer is in the China (Hangzhou) region, select China (Hangzhou).
Office Network
Select the office network for which you want to enable premium bandwidth from the drop-down list.
Note
If the Office network drop-down list is empty or you cannot select the target office network, the possible causes are:
No office network has been created. First, create an office network in the same region as the premium bandwidth on the Network & Storage > Office Network page.
The region of the selected office network does not match the region of the premium bandwidth. Both must be in the same region.
The office network is already bound to another premium bandwidth instance. An office network can be bound to only one premium bandwidth at a time.
Duration
If you select the subscription billing method, you must select a subscription period. Supported periods are 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years.
For subscription periods of 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years, you can enable auto-renewal. If you purchase by month, the auto-renewal period is monthly. If you purchase by year, the auto-renewal period is yearly.
For example, if you select a 2-month subscription and enable auto-renewal, the system automatically renews for another 2 months when the current period expires.
To renew for 1 week, only manual renewal is supported. For instructions, see Renew.
Bandwidth
Set the peak bandwidth as needed.
Important
The peak bandwidth is a reference value and upper limit, not a guaranteed service level. During resource contention, the actual bandwidth may be lower than the peak value.
(Conditional) If you select the subscription billing method, complete the payment as prompted.
Manage premium public bandwidth
After you enable premium bandwidth, you can manage it as needed. The following sections describe the available operations.

On the Create Rule panel, click Save.
Bind or unbind an office network
When premium bandwidth is bound to an office network, cloud computers in that office network use the premium bandwidth to access the internet. After unbinding, the office network's public bandwidth automatically switches back to basic bandwidth.
Bind an office network
When you enable premium bandwidth, you must select an office network. After the premium bandwidth is enabled, it is automatically bound to the selected office network.
If the premium bandwidth status is Unbound, bind it to an office network to avoid wasting resources.
Note
A premium bandwidth instance can be bound to only one office network at a time.
For example, to bind a premium bandwidth instance that is already bound to office network A to office network B, first unbind it from office network A, then bind it to office network B.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth.
In the Actions column, click Associate.
In the Associate dialog box, select an office network from the drop-down list.
Click OK.
When the premium bandwidth status changes from Updating to In Use, the office network is successfully bound.
Note
Note: After replacing premium bandwidth (unbinding the old bandwidth and binding a new one), you do not need to restart the cloud computers. The configuration takes effect automatically.
Unbind an office network
Important
Unbinding has the following effects:
The office network's public bandwidth automatically switches from premium bandwidth to basic bandwidth.
The office network's public network access control switches to the default value, which denies internet access. Even with basic bandwidth bound, cloud computers cannot access the internet. You can enable public network access in the Internet Access Control section of the office network details page.
You can bind the premium bandwidth to another office network that is not bound to premium bandwidth.
The rate limit rules configured for the premium bandwidth are automatically cleared. If you bind the premium bandwidth to a new office network and still need rate limiting, reconfigure the rate limit rules.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth.
In the Actions column, click Dissociate Office Network.
In the Confirm Disassociation dialog box, click OK.
Renew
Subscription premium bandwidth has a validity period. Renew it before it expires to avoid business disruptions.
You can enable auto-renewal when you enable premium bandwidth, or manually renew after purchase.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth.
In the Actions column, click Renew.
On the page that appears, select a renewal period.
Supported periods: 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years.
You can select a coupon if available.
Confirm the renewal fee and click Confirm Order.
Complete the payment as prompted.
If clicking Renew redirects you to a workspace where you cannot select an instance, the current entry does not support premium bandwidth renewal. Return to the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth, and click Renew in the Actions column to complete the renewal.
Unsubscribe
If you no longer need a subscription premium bandwidth, you can unsubscribe from it.
Important
Only subscription premium bandwidth supports unsubscription.
After you successfully unsubscribe from subscription premium bandwidth, billing stops.
To prevent cloud computers from losing internet access, unbind the office network and bind it to another premium bandwidth before unsubscribing.
After you successfully unsubscribe from premium bandwidth, cloud computers in the bound office network can no longer access the internet through that premium bandwidth.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth.
In the Actions column, click the ⋮ icon and select Unsubscribe.
You are redirected to the Unsubscriptions page. On the Unsubscribe from In-use Resources tab, select the product and unsubscription type.
Select the resource to unsubscribe from.
Confirm the unsubscription information, click Batch Unsubscribe Resources, and complete the unsubscription as prompted.
Delete premium bandwidth
If you no longer need a pay-as-you-go premium bandwidth, delete it to avoid unnecessary charges.
Important
Only pay-as-you-go premium bandwidth (fixed bandwidth billing and pay-by-traffic billing) can be deleted. Subscription premium bandwidth must be unsubscribed.
Prerequisite: Unbind the office network from the premium bandwidth before deleting it. Otherwise, the deletion fails.
Correct entry point: On the console, go to the Network & Storage > Premium Public Bandwidth page. Make sure you select the correct region.
Impact: Deleting premium bandwidth only removes public internet access. It does not affect software or data on the cloud computer. After deletion, no charges are incurred in the next billing cycle.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth.
In the Actions column, click Delete.
In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm Delete.
Purchase and view traffic plans
Purchase traffic plans
Traffic plans are prepaid traffic packages that offset only the traffic charges of pay-by-traffic public bandwidth. If your premium bandwidth uses pay-by-traffic billing, purchase a traffic plan to offset the traffic charges. The usage rules are as follows:
Scope:
Can only be applied to offset pay-as-you-go (pay-by-data-transfer) premium Internet bandwidth fees for EDS Enterprise Edition. Not applicable to other Alibaba Cloud services.
Can only be applied to offset Internet bandwidth traffic in Chinese mainland regions (excluding Hong Kong).
Can be shared across multiple office network under the same Alibaba Cloud account.
Activation rules:
A data transfer plan takes effect immediately after purchase. Refunds and transfers are not supported. Estimate your traffic usage before purchasing.
Each Alibaba Cloud account can hold up to 20 active data transfer plans. Multiple plans can be stacked, with the earliest-purchased plan consumed first.
Validity period:
Data transfer plans have a validity period. You can choose 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. Any unused data is forfeited when the plan expires.
If the data in the plan is fully consumed before the plan expires, subsequent traffic is billed at the pay-by-data-transfer rate.
On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, click Buy Data Transfer Plan.
On the WUYING Data Transfer Plan page, click Buy Data Transfer Plan. On the page that appears, select the validity period, specification, valid region, and quantity.
Confirm the configuration fee, click Buy Now, and complete the payment as prompted.
FAQ
What should I do if cloud computers cannot access the internet even though premium public bandwidth is enabled?
This may occur because internet access is disabled for the cloud computers. Enable internet access for the cloud computers. Follow these steps:
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Networks & Storage > Office Network.
In the top navigation bar, select a region.
On the Office Network page, find the office network that contains the cloud computer. Use either of the following methods to open the office network details page.
In the Actions column, click Modify.
In the Office Network Name/ID column, click the office network ID.
In the Public Bandwidth section of the office network details page, set Internet Access Control to Allow all cloud computers to access the Internet. You can configure a list of cloud computers that are not allowed to access the Internet..
Why can't cloud computers in overseas or Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions access the internet or select the public network access option?
Cloud computers in overseas and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions do not have public internet access by default. You must purchase and bind premium bandwidth to access the internet, including overseas websites such as Google and YouTube. If no premium bandwidth is bound, the Allow public network access option is not available when you create a cloud computer.
Note
Note: Cloud computers in mainland China may experience network limitations when accessing overseas websites. For better access to overseas websites, use cloud computers in overseas regions with premium bandwidth.
What should I do if download speeds are slow or the network speed does not meet expectations?
If you experience slow download speeds or network speeds that do not meet expectations, try the following:
Check the bandwidth type: Basic bandwidth has a peak of 5 Mbps (theoretical download speed of approximately 625 KB/s), suitable for light office work. For higher speeds, upgrade to premium bandwidth.
Rule out external factors: Test with different download sources to rule out source-side rate limiting or network fluctuations.
Office scenario recommendations: For typical office work such as web browsing and email, a bandwidth of approximately 5 Mbps is sufficient.
Note: Cloud computers do not provide additional bandwidth acceleration features. File transfer speeds are affected by multiple factors, including the local network, source server performance, and disk performance.
What are the differences in network capabilities between Personal Edition and Enterprise Edition cloud computers?
The main differences in network capabilities between Personal Edition and Enterprise Edition cloud computers are:
Personal Edition: Uses shared dynamic IP addresses. Does not support fixed egress IP, IP region selection, or ISP selection. Available only in mainland China regions.
Enterprise Edition: Uses basic bandwidth (shared dynamic IP) by default. After enabling premium bandwidth, you get a dedicated static IP. Supports overseas and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions. You can create multiple office networks and bind different premium bandwidth instances to each one to achieve multi-IP isolation across cloud computers.
How do I check the public egress IP address of a cloud computer?
The method for checking the public egress IP depends on the bandwidth type:
With premium bandwidth: View the bound static IP address on the Premium Public Bandwidth page in the console. Alternatively, verify the actual egress IP by visiting https://myip.ipip.net or https://ip.cc in a browser on the cloud computer.
With basic bandwidth only: No static public IP is assigned. Check the current shared egress IP by visiting the IP query websites mentioned above in a browser on the cloud computer. This IP may change over time.
Note
Note: If the IP location shown by a third-party platform differs from what the console shows, this may be due to inaccuracies in the third-party IP geolocation database. Use the console display as the authoritative source.
