Add visitor watermarks to your source code pages. This feature enhances security and helps trace responsibility in the event of a data leak.
Prerequisite: This feature is available only in the Advanced Edition. For more information, see our plans.
Enable the watermark
The security watermark feature is available only to enterprises on the Advanced Edition plan. For more information, see Alibaba Cloud DevOps basic features and Advanced Edition-only features.
Navigate to and turn on the switch to enable watermarks.
Watermarks come in two types:
-
A hidden watermark, which appears as a background pattern and cannot be hidden.
-
A visible watermark, which displays the current visitor's enterprise username and enterprise ID. This watermark is legible and can be hidden to deactivate it.
Note: An enterprise administrator sets the enterprise username in the Alibaba Cloud DevOps member management console. Users cannot modify it.
Watermark appearance
Once enabled, visible and hidden watermarks appear on the following pages:
-
Source code reading areas.
-
Code display areas in commit details.
-
File change areas in merge requests.
Example:
The watermark contains the logged-in user's username and partial account ID, such as misha(5e83615ec.... This text is tiled across the page as a semi-transparent overlay.
Disable the watermark
To disable the watermark, use the same switch you used to enable it. Turning the switch off immediately removes the watermarks.
If your Advanced Edition plan expires, the security watermark feature disables automatically.
