Change the owner of the super administrator account

To close an account or change the enterprise entity, you must first transfer ownership of the super administrator account (Master Account or MA) to another member of the enterprise. Then, you must modify the administrator information. This ensures that the enterprise account is managed effectively.

Limits

The owner of a super administrator account can be changed only once every 6 months. Proceed with caution.

Prerequisites

  • Before you change the owner of the super administrator account, ensure that all pending approval items are processed. For more information, see My Pending Tasks.

  • Before you change the owner of the super administrator account, ensure that all enterprise association invitations are processed. For more information, see Associated Enterprises and Organizations.

Step 1: Change the owner of the super administrator account

Each enterprise has only one super administrator account. The super administrator can transfer management permissions to another member of the enterprise. After the transfer is complete, the original account becomes a regular member account and loses its management permissions.

  1. After you log on to the Account Center as a super administrator, click Enterprise Real-name Information in the My Entity section to go to the Enterprise Information page.

  2. In the MA Settings area, for Super Administrator Account, you can click Change Owner.

  3. In the Transfer MA panel, search for the target super administrator by account name, UID, or display name, and then click Start Transfer.

  4. In the Change MA Owner panel, review the account information for the original and target super administrators, enter a transfer description, review and accept the transfer notes and impacts, and then click Submit Ownership Change.

  5. After the ownership change request is submitted, you can view the information for both the original and new super administrators. Use the provided approval link to complete the approval process.

  6. After the original super administrator approves the request, the ownership of the super administrator account is transferred.

Step 2: Modify the administrator information

To ensure that the super administrator account information is accurate, you must modify the administrator information immediately after the ownership transfer is complete.

  1. Log on to the Account Center as the new super administrator. In the My Entity section, click Enterprise Real-name Information. On the Enterprise Information page, go to the MA Settings section and click Modify next to Management Personnel.

  2. On the Modify Administrator panel, enter the new administrator's name and ID number, select their presence status, and then click Next: Face Enrollment.

  3. The previous administrator must scan the QR code with the Alibaba Cloud app or the Taobao mobile app to perform facial verification.

  4. After the previous administrator is verified, the new administrator must scan the QR code with the Alibaba Cloud app or the Taobao mobile app to perform facial verification.

  5. After the new administrator is verified, the administrator information is updated.
