Manual pause and resume

AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL in Serverless mode supports on-demand pause and resume. While an instance is paused, you are charged only for storage resources, and fees for computing resources are waived.

Per-second billing

AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL now supports per-second billing for computing resources and storage resources (storage resources in elastic storage mode only), and bills are aggregated hourly. The total price per hour for the same specifications remains unchanged. When you change instance specifications or pause and resume an instance, charges are calculated based on the instance specifications and status.

Diagnostics and optimization

The AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL diagnostics and optimization feature has been enhanced with three new pages: Overview, Key Metrics, and Query Analysis.

  • Overview: View the connection, cluster, and storage status of your instance from the console.

  • Key Metrics: Monitor data bloat, data skew, and index usage from the console.

  • Query Analysis: View the history and status of SQL queries. You can also analyze query execution in detail by using the provided execution plan data.

Note

This feature is available only for instances in elastic storage mode with a kernel version of V6.3.10.1 or later.

Monitoring and alerting

The monitoring and alerting feature for AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL has been upgraded to provide better visibility into instance status, performance, and load. You can now view monitoring metrics at two levels:

  • Instance-level monitoring: A new Performance & load page helps you quickly check the overall health of your instance.

  • Node-level monitoring: A new Node Monitoring page is added, which includes monitoring for Coordinator Nodes and Compute Nodes. This helps you quickly identify usage skew on a single node and take protective measures. If you have a large number of nodes, AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL also supports sorting by usage to help you quickly identify abnormal nodes.

Additionally, on the instance details page, the Instance Status section within the Basic Information tab has been updated. This section now includes health checks for connection and storage status, and provides an improved display of storage usage.
