How to modify the configuration of AI nodes-AnalyticDB(AnalyticDB)-阿里云帮助中心

Each AI node can deploy only one model. To deploy more models, you can add AI nodes. If you no longer need your AI nodes, you can delete them. AI nodes do not support specification changes. This topic describes how to modify the configuration of AI nodes.

Billing details

AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL bills you for AI nodes based on their specifications and quantity. For more information about AI node pricing, see Pricing.

Important

Billing for an AI node stops only after the node is released. For example, an AI node continues to incur charges if it is not released, even if the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance is stopped. Therefore, you must release AI node resources promptly to avoid unnecessary charges.

If your instance uses the pay-as-you-go billing method, new AI nodes are also billed on a pay-as-you-go basis (hourly). No refunds are provided when you delete AI nodes.
If your instance uses the subscription billing method:

New AI nodes also use the subscription billing method. The billing cycles of the instance and its AI nodes are not in sync. For example, if an instance is purchased on March 1, 2025 and expires on March 31, an AI node added on March 10 expires on April 9. After the instance expires, the AI nodes become unavailable if you do not renew the instance promptly.

Impacts of modifying AI nodes

Adding AI nodes does not affect the operation of your instance or data reads and writes.
After you delete an AI node, the model deployed on it becomes unavailable.

Enable the AI node feature and add AI nodes

If you did not enable the AI node feature when you created the instance, you can follow these steps to enable it.

Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console. Find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
In the navigation pane on the left, click AI Nodes.
In the upper-left corner, click Add AI Node. On the page that appears, click Enable to turn on the AI Node Switch.
Select the desired AI Node Specifications. For Number of AI Nodes, select a quantity of at least 1.

Each AI node can deploy only one model. Select the number of AI nodes as needed.
In the lower-right corner, click Buy Now.

Add or delete AI nodes

If the AI node feature is already enabled, you can add more AI nodes to deploy more models or delete AI nodes that you no longer need.

Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console. Find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
In the navigation pane on the left, click AI Nodes.
In the upper-left corner, click Add AI Node or Delete AI Node.
On the page that appears, select the Number of AI Nodes.

Before you delete an AI node, you must first delete the model in the DMS console. After the model is deleted, it becomes unavailable and you can delete the AI node.
In the lower-right corner, click Buy Now.
