Features

  For example, a customer used 1020 GB of CDT public BGP (multi-line) traffic in mainland China regions in June, with the first 20 GB covered by the free quota. Using pay-as-you-go CDT billing, the cost would be (1020 GB – 20 GB) × CNY 0.8/GB = CNY 800. The official discounted price for a 1000 GB CDT Resource Plan (Mainland China General) is CNY 736, saving CNY 64.

• Fully compatible with tiered pricing: Offsets all CDT public traffic tiers beyond the free quota.

Specifications

Before using a CDT Resource Plan, confirm in the CDT console that your products have been upgraded to CDT billing mode.

• Region: Mainland China General, Asia-Pacific General, Europe General, North America General, South America General, Middle East General.

• Line type: BGP (multi-line). BGP (multi-line)_Premium is not supported.

• Quantity: Default is 1, maximum is 50.

• Plan capacity: Customizable from 50 GB to 102400 GB, in 1 GB increments.

• Validity period: 1 year.

• Activation time: Activates immediately after purchase or at a specified hour within 180 days. This setting cannot be changed after confirmation.

Offset Rules

• Applicable products and scenarios: Offsets public traffic beyond the free quota for CDT-enabled products. After a plan is exhausted during its validity period, excess traffic is billed at the corresponding CDT tiered rate. Offset traffic counts toward CDT tier accumulation.

  The CDT public traffic free quota is 220 GB/month: 20 GB/month for mainland China regions and 200 GB/month for regions outside the Chinese mainland.

• Supported line types: BGP (multi-line). BGP (multi-line)_Premium is not supported.

• Offset order: The plan expiring soonest is consumed first.

• Expiration: Unused traffic in an expired plan is invalidated and cannot be offset.

Limits

Each Alibaba Cloud account (main account) can hold up to 50 active CDT Resource Plans. This limit cannot be increased.

Can I renew a CDT Resource Plan?

CDT Resource Plans cannot be renewed. Purchase additional plans to supplement your existing ones.

Can I get a refund for a CDT Resource Plan?

Refunds are available within 5 days if the plan has not been used. You can submit a subscription cancellation request on the Subscription Cancellation page in the Expenses and Costs console.

Data Transfer Plans can also be cancelled on this page. After cancellation, you can purchase a CDT Resource Plan as a replacement.

What are the differences between CDT Resource Plans and Data Transfer Plan?

Both CDT Resource Plans and Data Transfer Plans offset CDT public traffic, but differ as follows.

If I have both CDT Resource Plans and Data Transfer Plans

The plan expiring soonest is consumed first, whether it is a CDT Resource Plan or a Data Transfer Plan.

Data Transfer Plans only offset the first CDT public traffic billing tier (0–10 TB). Traffic beyond this tier is offset by CDT Resource Plans.

When CDT traffic exceeds the free quota, should I choose pay-as-you-go billing or purchase a CDT Resource Plan?

If your excess traffic costs are low (for example, a few USD per month), the pay-as-you-go billing method offers more flexibility. If your business is growing and your traffic demand is steadily increasing, purchasing a CDT Resource Plan can reduce costs. Evaluate both options based on your recent bills and business trends.

Why is my CDT Resource Plan or Data Transfer Plan not offsetting CDT traffic, or why am I being charged on a pay-as-you-go basis?

The following are common reasons and troubleshooting steps:

1. Region mismatch: For example, an Asia-Pacific data transfer plan cannot offset traffic generated in Chinese mainland regions (for example, the China (Hangzhou) region). Verify that the applicable regions of your plan cover the region where your traffic is generated.

2. Tiered offset limits: Data Transfer Plans only offset the first CDT public traffic billing tier (0–10 TB). Traffic exceeding this tier must be offset by CDT Resource Plans or will be charged at the pay-as-you-go billing rate.

3. Plan exhausted: On the Expenses and Costs console - Resource Plans page, scroll right and check the Remaining Capacity column to confirm your plan's actual remaining balance. Note: Do not confuse the instance details column with the remaining capacity column.

4. Unsupported billing items: CDT Resource Plans and Data Transfer Plans do not offset the Public IP Retention Fee (InstanceRent) for Elastic IP Addresses (EIPs). This fee must be paid separately.

5. Free quota priority: CDT provides a monthly free quota of 220 GB, which is consumed before any resource plan offsets apply. Resource plan offset records may show a billing delay. To confirm the actual offset period, check the Start Time of Deducted Instance field in the resource plan offset details.
