Prerequisites
To configure this component, access the flow canvas by using an existing flow or creating a new one.
Go to the canvas of an existing flow

Create a new flow to open its canvas. For more information, see Create a flow.
Procedure

This component works only for WhatsApp messages.

Use this component when a response takes longer to prepare, such as when generating a reply with a large language model. It is not needed in flows that respond immediately. If you use this component, you must pair it with either the Wait for a WhatsApp Response component or the Send a WhatsApp Message component. Otherwise, the typing indicator will not be sent.

When used with the Send a WhatsApp Message component, you must set the message type for that component to interactive message. Otherwise, the flow editor cannot establish the required context, and the typing indicator will not be sent.

The WhatsApp typing indicator relies on conversation context and requires no configuration. The indicator appears only if the following conditions are met:

The user has replied to a message from your business.

The user is waiting for another response from your business.

Add the Send a WhatsApp Typing Indicator component to your flow and click Save.

In the dialog box that appears, click Save.
