Cloud Web Hosting instances that run the Windows operating system support importing SQL Server database backup files in .bak format. This topic describes how to import SQL Server database backup files by using the Website Migration feature, using an Advanced edition of an Exclusive Web Hosting instance that runs the Windows operating system as an example.
Prerequisites

Install an FTP client. FileZilla is recommended. For more information, see Manage website files with FileZilla.

You have the SQL Server database backup file on your local host. For more information about how to back up a database, see Back up and restore data.
Procedure

Use FileZilla to upload the SQL Server database backup file in .bak format from your local host to the website root directory / of your Windows Cloud Web Hosting instance.

Log on to the Cloud Web Hosting console.

Find the Cloud Web Hosting to which you want to import the database backup file, and click Manage in the Actions column.

In the left navigation bar, select .

On the Website Migration page, click Create Migration Task.

In the Database Migration Settings section, configure the migration information.

Click Browse next to Database File.

In the File Directory dialog box that appears, select the uploaded .bak database backup file, and click OK.

In the Destination database drop-down list, select the destination Cloud Web Hosting database.

Click Next.

In the Website File Migration Settings area, click Skip, do not migrate website files.

In the Submission Settings section, click Submit Settings.
Results
On the Website Migration page, if the status of the migration task is Succeeded, the SQL Server backup data has been imported successfully.
