Task scheduling
This topic describes how to use the scheduling center feature to create, view, and use scheduling groups.
Feature overview
The scheduling center feature lets you automatically start migration tasks and dynamically limit their speed. You can add migration tasks to a scheduling group and execute them based on custom scheduling rules.
To use the scheduling center, follow these steps:

Create a start scheduling group
On the Cloud Migration Center page, choose Settings > Task Scheduling > Create Scheduling Group. In the dialog box that appears, enter the configuration information for the scheduling group and click Submit. For more information about the fields, see Scheduling center field description.

Use a start scheduling group
There are three ways to add a task to a scheduling group:
1. Add jobs to a scheduling group (Batch Assistant)
On the Cloud Migration Center page, choose Migration > Batch Assistant. When you create a migration task, set Add to Group Scheduling to Yes. The system lists all enabled scheduling groups. Select the scheduling group that you want to use and click Submit.

2. Add the task to a scheduling group when creating an SMC migration task (Create an SMC migration task)
When you create an SMC migration task, set Add to Group Scheduling to Yes. The system lists all enabled scheduling groups. Select the scheduling group that you want to use and click Submit.

3. Add a DTS migration task to a scheduling group (Create a DTS task to migrate a database instance)
When you create a DTS task to migrate a database instance, set Add to Group Scheduling to Yes. The system lists all enabled scheduling groups. Select the scheduling group that you want to use and click Submit.

Create a speed-limiting scheduling group
On the Cloud Migration Center page, choose Migration > Scheduling Center > Create Scheduling Group. In the dialog box that appears, enter the configuration information for the scheduling group and click Submit. For details about the configuration fields, see the on-screen instructions.

Use a speed-limiting scheduling group
On the scheduling center page, click the Add Task button for the speed-limiting scheduling group. A dialog box appears and shows the DTS tasks that can be rate-limited. Select the tasks that you want to limit, and click OK to attach them.

View scheduling groups
After a group is created, you can view it in the scheduling group list on the scheduling center page. For more information about the fields, see Scheduling center field description.

After you add migration tasks to a scheduling group, you can monitor the task execution status in the Task Details section of the scheduling group list. Alternatively, you can click a scheduling group name to view a task overview for that group.
