Migration tools

Connect your migration tools to CMH to track all migration tasks in one place. CMH automatically polls each tool for task status updates.

1. Server Migration Center (SMC): SMC migrates on-premises servers, virtual machines, and hosts from other cloud platforms to Alibaba Cloud. Click Disconnect Sync or Go to SMC Console to manage settings.

2. ECS_OOS Migration Tool: Migrates ECS instances within Alibaba Cloud by creating an image from a snapshot of a single ECS instance and launching a new instance in the destination zone. The tool is free, but you are charged for created images and new instances. Synchronization with CMH is enabled by default. Click View Details for documentation.

3. Data Transmission Service (DTS): DTS supports relational databases, NoSQL databases, and OLAP systems. It provides data migration, subscription, and real-time synchronization with latency within seconds for public and hybrid cloud scenarios. Click Disconnect Sync or Go to DTS Console to manage settings.

4. RDS/Redis cross-zone migration feature: Migrates RDS or Redis instances to other zones within the same region as a background operation. No new instance purchase is required. Migration typically takes several hours depending on data volume. During the switchover, the instance virtual IP address changes, causing a brief service interruption. Ensure your application uses automatic reconnection and does not connect directly by IP address. Synchronization with CMH is enabled by default. Click View Details for documentation.

5. Data Migration Service: Supports online data migration between products and protocols such as Alibaba Cloud OSS, AWS S3, AWS S3 Inventory, Alibaba Cloud OSS Inventory, Tencent COS, Qiniu Kodo, and HTTP/HTTPS.

6. Hive Migration Service (MMA): Migrates data from Hive to MaxCompute. MMA synchronizes and validates Hive objects and data, and provides flexible deployment with a visual online interface for operations.

7. CMH Big Data Migration Workbench: Provides productivity tools and task management for big data cloud migration, including a global meta service, big data migration, automatic SQL task transformation, data validation, and end-to-end monitoring.

   The Big Data Migration Workbench requires an agent. Download and install the tool package in the destination environment and keep the agent online.
