This topic describes the fees for each billing method of the offline migration service, including rental fees, overdue fees, and device loss fees.

Important

The Micro Data Transport device is available for rent only in the Chinese mainland.

Single rental

Pay by device rental days

The following table lists the fees for each device model under the pay-by-device-rental-days billing method.

Note

For data volumes exceeding 1 PB, use the pay-by-data-volume billing method.

Billing starts 24 hours after the logistics service confirms receipt of the device. Billing stops when you notify the Data Transport staff that the migration is complete.

Pay by migrated data volume

This sales model is available only in the Chinese mainland.

The following table lists the fees based on the total data volume migrated.

Note

Billing starts 24 hours after the logistics service confirms receipt of the device. Billing stops when you notify the Data Transport staff that the migration is complete.

Long-term rental

Important

This rental option is available only in the Chinese mainland.

Rental rules

Only the Micro Data Transport device is available for long-term rental.
If a device is abnormal, contact Alibaba Cloud for confirmation. If Alibaba Cloud confirms a device failure, submit a device replacement request.

Note
You can replace the device only with another device of the same specifications. To switch to a different specification, return the current device and place a new order.

Billing rules

Bills are generated monthly and charged in the following month.
The minimum rental period is 3 months. If you return the device before 3 months, you are billed for the remaining time based on the monthly minimum data volume for the device's specifications.
If the usage duration is a full month:
- If the data volume uploaded to the cloud is less than or equal to the monthly minimum, you are billed for the monthly minimum data volume.
- If the data volume uploaded to the cloud exceeds the monthly minimum, you are billed for the actual data volume uploaded.
If the usage duration in a month is less than a full month, the actual minimum data volume for that month is calculated as: Monthly minimum ÷ 30 days × Actual usage duration. Each month is treated as 30 days — the 31st day counts as the 30th. Actual usage duration is calculated as follows:
- Month of receipt confirmation: Actual usage duration = 30 days - Date of receipt confirmation.
- Month of device return: Actual usage duration = Date of device return - 1.
- For device replacements, two scenarios apply:
  - Same-month replacement: Actual usage duration = (Date the old device is sent - 1) + (30 days - Date the new device is received)
  - Cross-month replacement:
    - Month the old device is sent: Actual usage duration = Date the old device is sent - 1
    - Month the new device is received: Actual usage duration = 30 days - Date the new device is received
  - If two replacements occur in the same month: Actual usage duration = (Date the first old device is sent - 1) + (Date the second old device is sent - 1 - Date the first new device is received) + (30 - Date the second new device is received)

Note

If a device is replaced within the first 3 months after receipt confirmation, the replacement time is not deducted from the usage duration.
The day of receipt confirmation, device return, or device replacement (including the day the old device is sent and the day the new device is received) is not included in the billing.
