Before you can use the DataV Atlas geographic data service in DataV-Board, you must add the service as a data source. This topic describes how to add a DataV Atlas geographic data service.

Scenarios

The DataV Atlas geographic data service improves efficiency and decision-making by applying geographic data to various business scenarios.

  • Real-time interaction with massive data: Load data tiles on demand and use real-time interactive rendering. This resolves performance and efficiency issues when displaying large volumes of geographic data.

  • Data security: Returns data with binary encoding and provides access control and management features to prevent unauthorized access.

  • Real-time data updates and analysis: Supports fast updates and complex spatial analysis. This meets the requirements for the real-time display and analysis of dynamic information.

  • Multi-source data integration: You can quickly integrate geographic data from different formats, such as CSV, TSV, GeoJSON, and SHP. This improves data management capabilities.

Prerequisites

Limits

  • Version limit: The DataV Atlas geographic data service is available only in DataV-Board Enterprise Edition and later. For more information about versions, see Specifications.

  • Layer limit: The DataV Atlas geographic data service is supported only in the subcomponents of the Basic Flat Map 4.0 widget. These subcomponents include the points heatmap layer, trajectory layer, symbol aggregation layer, vector scatter layer, frame animation layer, icon scatter layer, information label layer, isosurface layer, animated bubbles layer, flying routes layer, grid aggregation layer, basic polygon layer, and basic scatter layer.

Add a DataV Atlas data service

  1. Access the DataV console.

  2. On the Workbench page, choose Data Preparation > Data Source > New Data Source.

  3. In the Type list, select DataV Atlas geographic data service.

  4. Enter the configuration information for the data source.

    Parameter

    Description

    Custom Data Source Name

A custom name for the data source.

    Service Endpoint

The service endpoint and data service access token provided by DataV Atlas.

To obtain the service endpoint and access token, log on to the DataV Atlas console and choose Open Center > Data Service > Data Service Token.

    Access Token

  5. After you enter the configuration information, click OK. The data source is added to the data source list.

Use a DataV Atlas data service

This section uses the vector scatter layer subcomponent of the Basic Flat Map 4.0 widget as an example to demonstrate how to configure and use a DataV Atlas geographic data service.

  1. Access the DataV console.

  2. On the Workbench page, hover over the dashboard you want to edit and click Edit.

    Note

If there are no dashboards on the Workbench page, you can create one. For more information, see Create a PC dashboard from a template.

  3. On the canvas, add the Basic Flat Map 4.0 widget and then add the vector scatter layer subcomponent. For more information about adding widgets, see Canvas operations for widgets.

  4. Click the vector scatter layer. In the widget configuration panel on the right side of the canvas, select Data Source and configure the connection information.

    Parameter

    Description

    Data Source Type

Select DataV Atlas geographic data service.

    Select Existing Data Source

Select an existing DataV Atlas geographic data service. Click Create to create a data source.

    Select API

From the drop-down list, select the data service that has been authorized to the service token.

    Important

The data service must be online in DataV Atlas to be selected.

    Feature ID Field

Set this field as the unique identifier for geographic features. This ensures that interactive selections across tiles work correctly.

    Data Mapping

Select the data fields for visualization. The list shows the statistical fields that you selected when you published the data service in DataV Atlas.

  5. Go to the Style > Graphic tab to enable visual mapping for the configured fields. If you map a numeric field to a color, select a continuous or partitioned numeric type. If you map a text field to a shape, select a nominal category type. For more information about data mapping, see Data visual mapping.
