You can migrate an ApsaraDB for MyBase instance to a different host.
Prerequisites
An ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL, ApsaraDB MyBase for SQL Server, ApsaraDB MyBase for PostgreSQL, or ApsaraDB MyBase for Redis instance has been created. For more information, see the following topics:
Usage notes
- Migrating an instance causes a connection interruption that lasts for about 30 seconds.
- ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL Master-replica Edition instances and ApsaraDB MyBase for SQL Server instances do not support cross-zone migration. You can migrate instances of other editions to hosts in the same zone or across different zones.
- Keep in mind the following risks when you migrate an instance to a different zone:
- The migration changes the virtual IP address (VIP) of the instance. Use the instance endpoint in your application to connect, instead of the IP address.
- Clear the client-side cache after the migration is complete. Otherwise, your application may be able to read data but not write data.
- If a Data Transmission Service (DTS) task is running on the instance, you must restart the task after the migration is complete.
Procedure
- Log on to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.
- In the upper-left corner of the page, select a region.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Dedicated Clusters. For the target dedicated cluster, click Details in the Actions column.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Instances.
- In the Actions column for the target instance, choose .
- Configure the following parameters:
Parameter Description Destination zone Select the destination zone from the drop-down list. Note- This parameter appears only for ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL High-availability Edition, ApsaraDB MyBase for PostgreSQL, and ApsaraDB MyBase for Redis instances, which support cross-zone migration.
- The drop-down list displays all zones where the hosts in the dedicated cluster reside.
vSwitch Select a vSwitch from the drop-down list. If no vSwitch is available, click Create VSwitch to create one in the destination zone. Note This parameter appears only when you migrate a primary instance to a different zone.Destination host Select the destination host. Note This parameter is optional. If you do not specify a host, the system migrates the instance to a host in the specified zone.Migration time - Immediate
- Maintenance Window 02:00-06:00
- Specified Time
Note You can migrate the primary instance, the secondary instance, or both, based on your business needs. If you choose to migrate only the primary instance, configure only the parameters for the primary instance. - Click OK.
