This topic describes how to disable unusual logon notifications.
Scenario
You receive an unusual logon notification email when the system detects a logon from an IP address in a new city. The system identifies an IP address as unfamiliar by comparing the current logon city with your frequently used logon locations. The system's assessment of an IP address is dynamic and changes based on your logon activity. If you log on from the same IP address multiple times, it will no longer be considered unfamiliar. This feature is enabled by default.
The main methods for unusual logon alerts are as follows:
IMAP logon
POP logon
Web logon
SMTP logon
Solution
In the upper-right corner of the Webmail page, go to Settings > Account and Security > Account Security and select Do not receive for unusual logon notifications, as shown in the following figure:
If you configure Alibaba Mail to retrieve emails using an untrusted device, you may receive unusual logon notifications.
In addition to the preceding methods, you can also stop receiving notifications in two other ways:
Set up trusted devices or enable security passwords for third-party clients.
