If your product uses the Tmall Genie app or the Cloud Intelligence app, you must configure a display icon and name for it. After the configuration is complete, the product icon and name appear on the app home page, in the network configuration list, and on the device details page.
Prerequisites
You have created a product for a Tmall Genie ecosystem project in the console. Or, you have created a product for a private brand project and selected the Cloud Intelligence app. For more information, see Create a product and Human-computer interaction overview.Configure product display for the Cloud Intelligence app in a private brand project
- Log on to the IoT Platform console.
- Go to the Human-Computer Interaction page for the product.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Product Display.
- (Optional) Click Change Icon to select a display icon for the product.
- Configure the display name of the product in Chinese and click Save.
The product name is a combination of Brand, Name, and Model. All three parts are required.
The product name must follow these rules:
- Supports Chinese characters, English letters, numbers, hyphens (-), at signs (@), and parentheses ().
- The content cannot contain the word "test".
- Cannot exceed 30 characters. A Chinese character counts as one character.
The product is displayed in the Cloud Intelligence app in the format of "Brand + Name + Model". For more information about the display location, see Configure multilingual management.
Note When you use the Cloud Intelligence app, note the following about product name configuration:- If you have configured the product name on the App Multilingual page, it is automatically displayed here. If you modify the name here, the change is synced to the App Multilingual page. For more information, see Configure multilingual management.
- For product categories such as lights, sockets, and switches, if the Manually select from product list/search check box is selected on the Pairing GuideConfigure pairing guide.
Configure product display for a Tmall Genie ecosystem project
- Log on to the IoT Platform console.
- Go to the Human-Computer Interaction page for the product.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Product Display.
- Click Upload Image to select a display icon for the product.
The uploaded display image for the app must meet specific visual standards. For more information, see Product display image specifications.
- Configure the display name for the product and click Save.
The product name is a combination of Brand, Name, and Model. All three parts are required.
Note By default, the app displays the category name. To use a custom device nickname, contact our business development team to submit one for approval. If you do not use a custom nickname, the default product category name is used. This is a level-3 category name, such as "smart socket".If you cannot find your brand in the Brand drop-down list, send the following information to aligenie.iot@list.alibaba-inc.com: the brand name in Chinese and English, the brand icon (800 px × 800 px, JPG), and the trademark registration certificate. We will add the brand after an internal review.
