Select the Overview page. In the area below, view metrics such as unprocessed events, total resources, and resource utilization.

Manage instances

When you perform daily database maintenance with the Alibaba Cloud app, you can restart instances, configure whitelists, view instance monitoring data, and view inspection scores.

Select the Instance List. Find and manage a target instance by selecting a region at the top or searching by instance ID or name.

Restart an instance

Click image next to the target instance and select Restart.

Alternatively, select Batch Operations at the bottom. Select the instances to restart, and then restart them in a batch.

Configure a whitelist

A whitelist is a list of IP addresses that are allowed to access an ApsaraDB RDS instance. Configuring a whitelist provides a high level of access security for your RDS instance. You can maintain whitelists in the Alibaba Cloud app to quickly handle access requests.

  1. Click image next to the target instance and select Set Whitelist/Security Group.

  1. Click image next to the target whitelist group (default) to modify or clear (delete) the target whitelist.

View instance metrics

Viewing database-related performance metrics is an essential step during daily database maintenance or when troubleshooting database failures.

  • View metrics for a single instance

Click image next to the target instance and select Instance Monitoring. This opens CloudMonitor, where you can view common performance metrics for the target instance.

  • Customize a monitoring dashboard

When you need to customize database monitoring or compare the performance of different instances, use a monitoring dashboard. Dashboards offer flexibility by letting you customize the instances and metrics to monitor. This allows for personalized monitoring and performance comparisons between instances.

    1. On the Instance List page, select Performance Center at the bottom.

    2. Click Monitoring Dashboard. Select a database engine and an existing dashboard to view the performance trends of the database instances on that dashboard.

      Note

You can also add a new monitoring dashboard. Customize the database instances and monitoring metrics as needed to monitor the running status of your database instances efficiently.

View inspection scores

Inspection scores provide a simple and efficient way to understand the current health of your database instances.

Note
  • The Inspection and Scoring feature currently supports only ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instances.

  • Before you can use the Inspection and Scoring feature, you must enable automatic inspection and scoring for the target instance on your computer. After you enable this feature, the system scores normally connected instances once a day at a random time. For more information, see Inspection and Scoring.

On the Instance List page, select Performance Center at the bottom. On the Inspection and Scoring page, view the inspection scores for your ApsaraDB RDS instances.

You can quickly browse the inspection scores for each ApsaraDB RDS instance. For instances with abnormal scores, you can view the Deduction Details and Score Report Details on your computer. For information about operations on your computer, see Inspection and Scoring.
