Use Alibaba Cloud DNS in the Alibaba Cloud app

View domain name information

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target domain name to open its details page.

2. On the domain name page, swipe the tab bar at the top and tap the Domain Details tab. You can then view details about the domain name, such as the DNS servers, Cloud DNS edition, and basic domain information.

Add a domain name

If you want to use Alibaba Cloud DNS for a domain name that is not registered with Alibaba Cloud, you must first add the domain name in the Alibaba Cloud app. This is required before you can enable domain name resolution.

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the icon in the upper-right corner to open the Add Domain Name page.

2. In the Add Domain Name field, enter the domain name. Then, tap the Domain Group field and select a group. Finally, tap the Save button.

3. After the domain name is added, it is displayed on the Domain Names tab. This indicates that the domain name was added successfully.

Delete a domain name

You can delete domain names that are not registered with Alibaba Cloud. When you delete a domain name, its DNS records are also deleted.

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the icon next to the target domain name.

2. In the dialog box that appears, tap Confirm Deletion to delete the domain name.

Change a group

You can move a domain name from one group to another.

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the icon next to the target domain name.

2. In the dialog box that appears, tap Change Group to open the Change Group page.

3. Tap the Domain Group field. In the dialog box that appears, select the destination group and tap Confirm. Then, on the Change Group page, tap the Save button. A "Change group successful" message indicates that the operation is successful.

Operation logs

The operation logs for domain name management show the time, domain name, and type of operation. Operations include adding, deleting, and retrieving domain names.

Add a DNS record

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target domain name to open the DNS Records page.

2. Tap the icon in the upper-right corner to open the Add Record page.

3. Tap the Record Type field. In the dialog box that appears, select the record type that you want to add and tap Confirm.

   Note

   The Alibaba Cloud app supports adding the following record types: A, NS, MX, TXT, CNAME, SRV, AAAA, and URL. To add other record types, you must perform the operation in the console on a computer. For more information about how to use each record type, see Add a DNS record.

4. In the Host field, enter the domain name prefix.

   Note

   For example, if your domain name is "example.com", the Host settings include the following:

   • www: The domain name to resolve is "www.example.com".

   • @: The domain name to resolve is "example.com".

   • abc: The domain name to resolve is the subdomain "abc.example.com".

   • mail: Used for mailbox resolution. The domain name to resolve is "mail.example.com".

   • *: Used for wildcard DNS. The domain name to resolve is "*.example.com", which matches all subdomains of "example.com".

5. In the Value field, enter a value that corresponds to the selected Record Type. For more information about the value for each record type, see Add a DNS record.

6. Tap the Line field. In the dialog box that appears, select a line and tap Confirm.

   Note

   You must configure a DNS record with the line set to Default. This record acts as a fallback to prevent resolution failures for DNS requests that do not match a specific line.

7. Tap the TTL field. In the dialog box that appears, select a TTL value and tap Confirm.

   Note

   TTL: This is the Time-to-Live (TTL) of a DNS record in a local DNS server. A smaller TTL value means that changes to the DNS record take effect faster for end users.

8. After you configure all parameters on the Add Record page, tap the Done button in the upper-right corner. An Added successfully message is displayed, and you can view the new DNS record on the DNS Records page.

Modify a DNS record

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target domain name to open the DNS Records page.

2. For the DNS record that you want to modify, tap the icon next to it. In the dialog box that appears, tap the Modify button to open the Modify Record page.

3. Modify the record value as needed, and then tap Done.

Delete a DNS record

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target domain name to open the DNS Records page.

2. For the DNS record that you want to delete, tap the icon next to it. In the dialog box that appears, tap the Delete button. In the Delete Record confirmation dialog box, tap Confirm to complete the deletion.

Pause or enable a DNS record

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target domain name to open the DNS Records page.

2. For the DNS record that you want to pause, tap the icon next to it. In the dialog box that appears, tap the Pause button. The status changes to Paused.

3. For the DNS record that you want to enable, tap the icon next to it. In the dialog box that appears, tap the Enable button. The Paused status disappears.

Parsing logs

The operation logs for DNS records show the operation time, operation type, and operator IP address. Operations include adding, deleting, and modifying DNS records.

1. On the Domain Names page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target domain name to open the DNS Records page.

2. Tap the Operation Logs tab to view information about adding, deleting, and modifying DNS records.

View VIP product details

1. On the VIP Products page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the target product to open its details page.

2. On the VIP product details page, you can view the basic information and configuration of the product.

Bind a domain name

A domain name must be bound to a VIP product to use paid DNS features.

1. On the VIP Products page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, confirm that the Domain Status of the target product is Unbound. Then, tap the icon next to the product.

2. In the dialog box that appears, tap the Bind Domain Name button to open the Bind Domain Name page.

3. On the Bind Domain Name page, enter the domain name that you want to bind in the Bind Domain Name field. Then, tap the Done button in the upper-right corner to complete the binding.

   Note

   On the Bind Domain Name page, if the Number of Bindable Domains is greater than 1 and you want to bind multiple domain names at the same time, enter the domain names in the Bind Domain Name field, separated by commas (,). If a VIP product has available slots and you want to add more domain names, perform the Change Domain Name operation.

Change a domain name

1. On the VIP Products page of Alibaba Cloud DNS, tap the icon next to the target product.

2. In the dialog box that appears, tap the Change Domain Name button to open the Change Domain Name page.

3. On the Change Domain Name page, enter the new domain name in the Bind Domain Name field. Then, tap the Done button in the upper-right corner to complete the change.

   Note

   To change more than one domain name, enter all the new domain names in the Bind Domain Name field, separated by commas (,). If not all available slots for the Number of Bindable Domains are used and you want to add more domain names, you must enter both the currently bound domain names and the new ones in the Bind Domain Name field.

DNS security

The Alibaba Cloud app lets you view DNS protection data and queries per second (QPS) statistics.
