Use Domain Names on the Alibaba Cloud app
You can use the Alibaba Cloud app on mobile devices, such as iOS and Android devices, to log on to the Domain Names console and manage your domain names. This topic describes how to perform common operations on the app, such as registering, trading, and renewing domain names, and verifying registrant profiles.
Prerequisites
You have installed the Alibaba Cloud app on your mobile device, registered, and logged on. For more information, see Log on to an account on the Alibaba Cloud app.
Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account is verified. For more information, see Account registration and Identity verification.
Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account is attached to a verified Alipay account. If it is not, go to the Alipay account attachment page to attach one.
Logon entry point
Open the Alibaba Cloud app and select the Console tab.
At the top of the page, select Domain Names to go to the Domain Names page.
Domain name registrant profile
You can create and verify a domain name registrant profile in advance. This simplifies domain name registration, information modification, and purchases on Alibaba Cloud and reduces repetitive tasks.
On the Domain Names page, select Domain Management.
On the Domain Management page, click Registrant Profiles.
On the Registrant Profile List page, select Create Template to create a new template for future domain name registrations.
Fill in the information. The following steps use Individual as the Registrant Type for example.
Submit information: Select a Certificate Type and upload your certificate. Then, enter your information in the Template Information section, such as your area, postal code, and email address. To complete the submission, enter the verification code sent to your email address.
NoteThe review is expected to be completed within 1 to 3 business days.
After approval, you can view the template in the Information Template List.
Register a domain name
You can apply for and obtain a unique identifier, a domain name, from a domain name registrar. You can use it to point to web services such as websites or apps.
Register a domain name.
On the Domain Names page, enter your desired domain name to check if it is already registered.
If the domain name is Already registered, you can select Inquire Now to delegate the purchase to Alibaba Cloud or purchase the domain name through a transaction to obtain your desired domain name.
If it is Not registered, enter the domain name you want to register in the search bar on the Domain Names page and click Register Now on the right.
Complete the order information.
Select a registrant profile and choose the subscription duration. If you do not have a registrant profile, you can create one. For more information, see Domain name registrant profile.
Optional: To enter a coupon code, click Coupon Code above the order confirmation section. For more information, see How do I obtain a domain name coupon code?.
Make the payment. You can pay using Alipay, Huabei, or UnionPay.
Check the domain status.
On the Domain Management page, click All Domain Names to view the status of the registered domain name.
Renew a domain name
To ensure your domain name remains valid and to prevent your website from becoming inaccessible due to expiration, you should renew your domain name before it expires.
On the Domain Names page, select Renewal/Redemption.
On the Domain List page, select the domain names you want to renew and click Batch Renewal/Redemption.
Confirm the renewal order.
On the Confirm Order tab, select the Renewal Duration and click Confirm Order.
You can enter a promotional code.
On the order confirmation page, click Discount Code and enter the code. For more information, see How to obtain a domain name discount code?.
After the payment is complete, you can click the Renew/Redeem button on the Domain Registration page to go to the Domain List, where you can check the Expiration Date of the domain name to confirm that the renewal was successful.
Sell a domain name
You can use the Alibaba Cloud platform to sell a domain name that you own to an interested buyer. The procedure is as follows.
On the Domain Names page, click Domain Management.
On the Domain Management page, select Seller Center.
In the Seller Center, select Initiate New Transaction and fill in the information.
Fill in the domain name. Tap Select from domain list to choose the domain name that you want to sell.
Fill in the information. Enter the Receivable Price. The Customer-facing Price is automatically populated.
NoteThe customer-facing price is 15% higher than the seller's asking price to cover taxes and service fees. This fee is paid by the buyer. The seller does not incur any other fees.
Identity verification: Verify your identity as the seller using a text message verification code.
Click Domains for Sale in the Seller Center to check the status and view the latest sales updates.
Purchase a domain name
If you cannot register your desired domain name through standard registration, you can purchase an unexpired domain name that is owned by another party on the domain name trading platform. The platform supports various transaction methods, such as backordering, fixed-price purchasing, domain buy-back, and auctions. It uses Alipay to provide escrow services, which ensures a secure and convenient experience for users.

Displays domain names that are currently up for auction. Users who have not backordered can pay a walk-in fee to participate directly in the auction. |

Pre-ordering
On the Domain Names page, select Backorder.
Use Backorder Type and Custom Filter to quickly find and backorder your desired domain name.
Check the backorder result. In Domain Management, select My Backorders to view the current status of your backordered domain names.
Fixed-price
On the Domain Names page, select Fixed-price.
Use Quick Filter and Custom Filter to quickly find the domain name you want to purchase and complete the payment.
Check the purchase result. In Domain Management, select Purchased Domains to view the result.
Domain Buy-back
On the Domain Names page, select Domain Buy-back.
Fill in the fields for The domain name you want to purchase, your Budget, and Your Name.
After you submit the request, a domain buy-back expert will contact you by phone within 2 business days to confirm the details and help you acquire your desired domain name.
Auction Hall
On the Domain Names page, select Auction Hall.
Use Backorder Type and Custom Filter to quickly find the domain name you want to purchase and complete the payment.
Transfer domain name ownership
You can transfer domain name ownership if the identity verification information for a domain name is incomplete, the registrant's information changes (such as their email, address, or contact method), or ownership changes due to a transaction or ICP filing.
On the Domain Names page, select Domain Management.
Go to the Domain Management page and click All Domain Names. In the Domain List, find the domain name that you want to transfer. Click the More button for the domain name, and select Transfer Ownership to fill in the information.
Select the verified registrant profile for the new owner and click Submit. If you have not created a template, you can click Create Template. For more information about templates, see Domain name registrant profile.
Transfer in a domain name
If you have a domain name registered with another domain name registrar and want to transfer it to Alibaba Cloud for management, you can follow these steps.
On the Domain Names page, select Domain Transfer-in.
On the Domain Transfer-in Details page, fill in the Domain Name and Authorization Code.
NoteWhen you want to transfer a domain name from the original registrar to another, you need to obtain an authorization code from the original registrar.
Select a verified registrant profile. If you have not created one, see Domain name registrant profile. Click Next, review the Order amount, and click Pay.
Modify domain name DNS servers
You can follow these steps to switch your domain name's DNS servers to a non-Alibaba Cloud registrar, Alibaba Cloud DNS, or a self-managed DNS server.
On the Domain Names page, select Domain Management.
Go to the Domain Management page and click All Domain Names. In the Domain List, find the domain name that you want to modify. Click the More button for the domain name, and select DNS Management to modify the DNS servers.
NoteRules for modifying domain name DNS servers:
Enter at least 2 and at most 3 DNS servers for international domain names. Enter at most 6 DNS servers for CNNIC domain names.
Do not enter spaces or special characters.
