This topic explains how to obtain an access credential for the HTTP interface.

Background information

You can obtain and manage access credentials for the HTTP interface on the API Key page.

Note

Currently, API Keys can only be used to make calls to IQS-related products, such as Connected Search, Web Parsing, AI Q&A, and Vertical Search.

Create an API Key

  1. Log on to the IQS Information Query Service console, and click overview or API Key in the left navigation pane.

On the overview page, click the Create API Key button in the upper-right corner to create a new dedicated API Key. The Dedicated API Key section on the page lists your existing keys and their available actions (View, Copy, and Delete). The plan section below displays your current plan version, its activation date, and total usage statistics.

  2. Click the Create API Key button.

  3. Enter a Caller ID and click Create. The system generates a new API Key for the specified caller.

  4. Caller ID: A unique identifier for the caller. We recommend using the UID of your main account or a RAM user to simplify usage analysis.

  5. Important

A caller ID must be unique and can only be associated with one API Key.

A new API Key takes about 5 minutes to become active.

View API Keys

  1. Log on to the IQS Information Query Service console, and click overview or API Key in the left navigation pane.

  2. The page lists your existing API Keys. To view an API Key, click the View icon to the right of the corresponding entry.

The Keep it Safe dialog box appears and displays the full API Key. Click the Copy button.

  3. Keep your API Key confidential to ensure secure calls.

  4. You can use the API Key in your application to make calls to the HTTP interface.
