The recording rule configuration feature allows you to configure recording rules in the cloud. This topic describes how to configure recording rules in the cloud.
Procedure
- Log on to the Real-Time Communication RTC console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- Select the ID of the application to be configured.
- Create a cloud recording template.
- Optional:Turn on the Cloud-based Recording switch. Note
- The cloud recording service is disabled by default. You must enable the service in the console before you can use the recording function properly. Otherwise, the recording function is unavailable.
- You can create and edit recording rules only when the cloud recording service is turned on.
- If you disable the cloud recording service in the console, the recording function will not affect the ongoing recording task. However, the recording function will not be available after the ongoing recording task is stopped.
- Click Create Template.
- Set parameters for adding a template.

Parameter Description Template The name of the template. It can contain 1 to 128 characters, letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-). Storage service Storage product. Currently, the corresponding storage product for cloud recording is OSS. Storage Location The OSS bucket where the recording file is stored. Recording Period The recording period. Valid values: 1800 to 20000. Unit: seconds. Default value: 1800. Delayed recording time The time when the recording is delayed. Valid values: 180 to 300. Unit: seconds. Default value: 180. Recording formats The recording format. Valid values: m3u8, flv, and mp4. Naming Conventions The storage rule of the recorded file. The current rule is record/{AppId}/{ChannelId_TaskId}/{EscapedStartTime}_{EscapedEndTime}. Mixed stream layout For more information, see Stream Mixing Layout. Note The maximum number of video sources in the layout needs to be less than or equal to the number of input channels of the billing configuration.Encoding options The encoding options. For more information, see MediaEncode enumeration values. Note The resolution in the encoding option must be less than or equal to the resolution in the billing configuration.Billing configurations Billing configuration. For more information, see TaskProfile enumeration values. Callback methods The callback method of the recording event. Valid values: - MSMQ: the callback MSMQ for recording events.
- HTTP request: the HTTP callback URL for recording events.
Region /Queue If you set Callback Method to MSMQ, you must select a region and its corresponding MNS MSMQ. callback URL If you set Callback Method to HTTP Request, you must enter the callback URL. - Click Submit to create a recording template.
- Optional:Turn on the Cloud-based Recording switch.
- View the cloud recording template.
You can click Details, Edit, or Delete in the Actions column of the template list to manage a specified IoT Platform recording template.
