Billing rules
Billable item
Billable item | Description |
Number of terminal devices | Mobile Push is billed based on the number of unique terminal devices per application each month. |
Billable item statistics
The daily number of billable items is the count of unique devices that receive their first push within the current calendar month. This count resets on the first day of each month. Billing is based on the statistics provided in the Alibaba Cloud Mobile Push console.
Example: You use Mobile Push. On the first day of the month, you send a push to 2,000 devices. On the second day, you send a push to 5,000 devices, 500 of which also received a push on the first day. The number of billable items for the first day is 2,000. The number of billable items for the second day is 5,000 - 500 = 4,500.
Billing cycle
Daily billing cycle: Usage is calculated daily. After your free tier and resource plan quotas are exhausted, you are charged for any additional daily usage.
Monthly free tier cycle: The free tier resets on the first day of each month. If your monthly usage is within the free tier, you are not charged. If your usage exceeds the free tier, you are charged for the excess amount.
Bill generation
Purchase bills: A purchase bill is generated immediately after you purchase a package or a resource plan.
Pay-as-you-go bills: If you incur pay-as-you-go fees, a consolidated daily bill is generated. This bill includes the pay-as-you-go fees for all EMAS products from the previous day.
Bills are typically generated around 3:00 AM the next day. The actual generation time may vary. Check your account for the final bill.
Sales Model
Mobile Push offers the following three billing methods.
Free tier
Each application has a free tier of 50,000 billable items per month.
Pay-as-you-go
Fees are calculated based on the number of billable items and the pay-as-you-go price.
Number of billable resources (devices) | Price (CNY) |
1 | 0.06 |
Resource plan
A resource plan is a prepaid, cost-effective option. You can purchase multiple resource plans. They are consumed sequentially in the order of purchase. Purchase a resource plan.
Resource plan size (devices) | Validity period (months) | Resource plan price | Unit price (CNY/device) | Discount compared to pay-as-you-go |
10,000 | 12 | 498 | 0.049 | 18% off |
100,000 | 12 | 4,500 | 0.045 | 25% off |
1,000,000 | 12 | 32,499 | 0.032 | 46% off |
5,000,000 | 12 | 129,999 | 0.026 | 57% off |
Resource plan quotas are deducted based on daily usage. For example, if you purchase a resource plan for 5,000,000 devices and use 4,000,000 on the first day, your remaining quota will be 1,000,000 devices for the rest of the validity period. Resource plans are valid for one year. The service becomes available immediately after purchase and remains active as long as the resource plan is valid and its quota is not exhausted.

Billing example
For example, a user purchases the EMAS Enterprise Edition package and a Mobile Push resource plan. The user's quotas are as follows: a free tier of 50,000 devices per month for each application, a monthly quota of 100,000 devices from the EMAS Enterprise Edition package, and a resource plan for 100,000 devices that is shared across all applications. If the number of unique devices for an application exceeds 150,000 in a month, the excess usage is first deducted from the resource plan. After the resource plan quota is exhausted, billing automatically switches to the pay-as-you-go method.
Overdue payments
The Mobile Push grace period is the duration after an overdue payment occurs during which the push API remains available. This helps ensure service continuity.
Mobile Push provides a 24-hour grace period for overdue payments. If the overdue payment is not settled by the end of the grace period, the push API for your account is suspended.
After the service is suspended, you must add funds to your account and settle the overdue payment to resume service.
Refund policy
If you have purchased a Mobile Push resource plan with your Alibaba Cloud account, you can request a refund before the plan expires, provided that the resource plan has not been used. A resource plan is considered unused if the monthly number of unique devices that receive pushes is within the free tier. Refunds are not issued under any other circumstances.
To request a refund, submit a ticket for manual processing.
