Alibaba Cloud Mail retains deleted email accounts for 30 days by default. This topic explains how to restore a deleted email account and its data.
The account recycle bin is unavailable for free enterprise mail, which means deleted accounts cannot be restored. Paid enterprise mail supports the account recycle bin, allowing you to restore deleted email accounts within 30 days.
Restore a deleted account
Sign in to the domain management console with your postmaster account. Go to Organization and Users > Account Recycle Bin. Find the account you want to restore, click Restore Account, and then click OK.
1. You cannot restore an account from the account recycle bin after its retention period expires. The retention period is 30 days for Standard Edition and 90 days for AI Premium Edition.
2. If the domain name associated with the deleted account was also removed from the domain management console, you cannot restore the account directly. In this case, you must first re-add the domain name (see How do I add multiple domains and domain aliases?) and create a new employee account (see How do I create an employee account?). You can then transfer the emails from the old account.
Transfer emails from a deleted account
Sign in to the domain management console with your postmaster account. Go to Organization and Users > Account Recycle Bin. Find the account, click Transfer Mails, enter the target email address, and click OK.

-
Emails are transferred to a new folder in the destination mailbox, named after the original account's email address.

-
After the transfer is complete, the system sends a notification email to the destination mailbox. Check this notification to confirm the transfer result.

-
If you transfer emails from multiple deleted accounts to a single destination account, note the destination account's limits: a maximum of 2 million emails and 800 folders. Before transferring, verify the current email and folder count of the destination account. You can check the email count in Data Statistics > Account Usage Statistics. To check the folder count, you must sign in to the destination mailbox.
-
Emails in the junk folder and drafts folder are not transferred.
-
The destination account cannot be a frozen account.
