"MX not parsed" is displayed in the Alibaba Mail management console
Resolve the MX not parsed status that the Alibaba Mail management console displays after you activate Alibaba Mail.
Problem description
After you activate Alibaba Mail, the Alibaba Mail management console displays MX not parsed. The Alibaba Mail management console checks your DNS records at scheduled times, not in real time.
The following figure shows the MX not parsed status in the Alibaba Mail management console.
Causes
The MX not parsed status can have any of the following causes:
DNS record conflict — A CNAME record that uses the at sign (@) as the host record conflicts with the MX record. Check whether such a CNAME record is configured for your domain name.
Domain name under review — The domain name was registered recently and is still under review.
Missing MX record — The MX record is not configured.
MX records from multiple providers — Multiple MX records from different service providers are configured.
Wrong domain name — The record was configured for the wrong domain name, such as a second-level domain.
Solutions
Each solution in the following list resolves the cause that carries the same number in the Causes section of this topic: solution 1 resolves cause 1, solution 2 resolves cause 2, and so on. Apply only the solution for the cause that applies to your domain name.
Solutions 1 and 4 change DNS records that are already configured. Delete a CNAME record only if your domain name no longer needs it, and delete or pause only MX records that are not in use. Deleting or pausing an MX record that is still in use causes mail delivery errors.
DNS record conflict — Delete the conflicting CNAME record as needed. Do not use a CNAME record and an MX record at the same time if both use the at sign (@) as the host record. Instead, use a subdomain prefix in place of the at sign (@), or use an A record to connect to CDN, ECS, or other services.
Domain name under review — Wait until the review is complete, and then refresh the page.
Missing MX record — Configure the MX record. For details, see What is an MX record?.
MX records from multiple providers — Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console, and then delete or pause the MX records that are not in use to prevent mail delivery errors.
Wrong domain name — Configure the DNS record for your mail domain name. The mail domain name is the part of an email address after the at sign (@).
