Purchase a DTS instance

Data Transmission Service (DTS) supports two task creation methods: configure-then-purchase and purchase-then-configure. Use the purchase-then-configure method to buy a DTS instance before configuring data migration, data synchronization, data subscription, data verification, or Serverless tasks.

Purchase a data verification task

  1. Go to the purchase page using one of the following methods:

    • Go to the DTS purchase page.

    • On the Verification Task page, click Purchase Instance.

  2. Configure the parameters for the data verification task.

    Important

    • Data verification tasks are only available with the DTS (pay-as-you-go) billing method.

    • You cannot purchase the incremental data verification feature separately.

    Select DTS (pay-as-you-go).

    Select Data Verification.

    Data verification type

    Fixed to full data verification.

    Source instance

    Select the database type for the source instance.

    Source region

    Select the region of the source database. This setting cannot be changed after purchase.

    Destination instance

    Select the database type for the destination instance.

    Destination region

    Select the region of the destination database. This setting cannot be changed after purchase.

    Network type

    This parameter is set to Express Connect.

    Resource group

    Select the resource group for the data verification task. What is Resource Management?.

    Quantity

    Number of links

    Number of data verification tasks to purchase. Default: 1. Maximum: 99.

  3. Click Buy Now and complete the payment.

Purchase a serverless task

  1. Navigate to the purchase page using one of the following methods:

    • Go to the DTS purchase page.

    • On the Data Synchronization Tasks page, click Purchase Instance.

  2. Configure the following parameters for the serverless task.

    Note

    • Currently, serverless tasks can be purchased with DTS (Pay-as-you-go) for data synchronization only.

    • For serverless instances created using the purchase-before-configure approach, the default DU range is from 1 to 16.

    Source instance

    Select the database type of the source instance.

    Incremental data verification

    Whether to enable incremental data verification for the serverless task.

    Source region

    Select the source database region. This cannot be changed after purchase. Proceed with caution.

    Destination instance

    Select the database type of the destination instance.

    Destination region

    Automatically set to the source database region. Cannot be changed.

    Synchronization topology

    Fixed to One-way Synchronization.

    Network type

    Fixed to Express Connect.

    Resource group

    Select the resource group for the serverless task. What is Resource Management?.

    Quantity

    Number of links

    Number of serverless tasks to purchase at once. Default: 1. Maximum: 99.

  3. Click Buy Now and complete the payment.

Purchase a data migration task

Note

You can also configure the migration task before purchasing it. Configure a Migration Task.

  1. Go to the purchase page in one of the following ways:

    • Go to the DTS purchase page.

    • On the Data Migration page, click Purchase Instance in the upper-right corner.

  2. Configure the data migration task parameters.

    Note

    Currently, you can purchase data migration tasks only by using the DTS (Pay-As-You-Go) billing method.

    Task type

    Select Data Migration.

    Incremental data verification

    Specify whether to enable incremental data verification for the migration task.

    Region

    Select the region where the destination database is located.

    Instance class

    DTS offers instance classes with different performance levels that affect migration speed. Select a class based on your requirements. Data migration instance classes.

    Resource group

    Select the resource group for the migration task. What is Resource Management?.

    Quantity

    Number of instances

    Number of data migration tasks to purchase. Default: 1. Maximum: 99.

  3. Click Buy Now and follow the prompts to complete the payment.

Purchase a data synchronization task

Important

  1. Access the purchase page using one of the following methods:

    • Go to the DTS purchase page.

    • On the Data Synchronization Tasks page, click Purchase Instance.

  2. Configure the following parameters.

    Billing method

    • Subscription: Prepaid upon task creation. Suitable for long-term needs and more cost-effective than pay-as-you-go. Longer subscriptions receive larger discounts.

    • Pay-as-you-go: Postpaid with hourly charges. Suitable for short-term needs. Release the task at any time to stop billing.

    DTS instance cluster type

    Select Public Cluster.

    Note

    This parameter is available only when Billing method is set to Subscription.

    Feature

    Select Data Synchronization.

    Incremental data verification

    Whether to enable incremental data verification.

    Note

    Incremental data verification is not supported for the subscription billing method.

    Source instance type

    Select the database type of the source instance.

    Source instance region

    Select the region of the source database. This setting cannot be changed after purchase, so choose carefully.

    Destination instance type

    Select the database type of the destination instance.

    Destination instance region

    Select the region of the destination database. This setting cannot be changed after purchase, so choose carefully.

    Synchronization topology

    Select One-way Synchronization or Two-way Synchronization.

    Network type

    Fixed to Express Connect.

    Synchronization link specification

    DTS offers link specifications with different performance levels, measured by records synchronized. Synchronization link specifications.

    Note

    Link specification affects synchronization speed. For production environments, select small or higher.

    Resource group

    Select the resource group for the synchronization task. What is Resource Management?.

    Purchase

    Subscription duration

    Select the subscription duration: 1-9 months, or 1, 2, 3, or 5 years.

    Note

    • This parameter is available only when Billing method is set to Subscription.

    • You can select the Auto-renewal checkbox as needed.

    Quantity

    Number of data synchronization tasks to purchase. Default: 1.

  3. Click Buy Now and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment.

Purchase a change tracking task

Note

You can also configure a change tracking task before purchasing it. Configure a change tracking task.

    • Data Transmission Service (DTS) (subscription): Prepaid. More cost-effective than pay-as-you-go for long-term usage. Longer subscriptions receive larger discounts.

    • Data Transmission Service (DTS) (pay-as-you-go): Postpaid with hourly charges. Suitable for short-term needs. Release the task at any time to stop billing.

    DTS instance cluster type

    Select public cluster.

    Note

    This option is available only when Billing method is set to Data Transmission Service (DTS) (subscription).

    Function

    Select Change Tracking.

    Subscription instance type

    Select the database type to track.

    Note

    A database in PolarDB-X must be created based on an existing RDS MySQL instance.

    Change tracking configuration fee type

    If you set Billing method to Data Transmission Service (DTS) (subscription) and Subscription instance type to MySQL, you must select a configuration fee type.

    • Full-price Configuration Fee (No Data Traffic Fee): You pay only the configuration fee. The data traffic fee is waived.

      Note

      Data traffic is the total data a client consumes from a change tracking channel, billed at CNY 1.00/GB (minimum 1 GB). Suitable for subscription instances with small data volumes.

    • Half-price Configuration Fee + CNY 1 per GB for Data Traffic Fee: Starting from December 18, 2020, DTS charges an additional data traffic fee for this change tracking task.

    Source region - subscription

    Select the source database region. This cannot be changed after purchase.

    Resource group

    Select the resource group for the change tracking task. What is Resource Management?.

    Quantity

    Number of links

    The number of change tracking tasks to purchase. The default value is 1.

    Subscription duration

    Select the subscription duration: 1-9 months, or 1, 2, 3, or 5 years.

    Note

    • This option is available only when Billing method is set to Data Transmission Service (DTS) (subscription).

    • You can select the auto-renewal checkbox as needed.

  3. Click Buy Now and follow the prompts to complete the payment.
