Alibaba Cloud offers a Domain Name Membership program. You become a member when you use the domain name marketplace on Alibaba Cloud or Wanwang and meet specific conditions. As a member, you receive value-added services based on your membership level. This service went online at 16:30:00 on January 23, 2024. This topic answers frequently asked questions and provides important information about the program.
What is Domain Name Membership and how are levels determined?
Alibaba Cloud Domain Name Membership is a status you gain by reaching a specific spending amount on the Alibaba Cloud or Wanwang platform. The membership has three levels: Regular, Silver, and Gold. Each level has different benefits. For details, log on to your Alibaba Cloud account and visit: https://mi.aliyun.com/domain-member.
Alibaba Cloud determines your level based on your spending. If you meet the required spending amount this month, your level is maintained or upgraded next month. Upgrades take effect immediately. If you do not meet the spending amount, your level is downgraded next month.
What spending counts toward membership level evaluation?
Spending that counts toward your membership level includes the purchase of Fixed Price (Premium Selection) domain names and winning bids in Wanwang pre-release domain name auctions, provided the transaction is completed. The following do not count toward your cumulative spending or earn Mi Points: domain name buy-backs, Fixed Price (Preferred Selection) domain names, other types of domain name auction orders, or orders for domain name registration, transfer-in, renewal, or redemption. This also applies to renewal or transfer-in orders that are generated during certain domain name transactions.
What is the membership period?
Silver and Gold memberships are valid for at least one month. If your spending meets the requirement to maintain or upgrade your level, your membership is extended to the last day of the following month.
Regular membership is permanent.
What are the membership benefits?
Alibaba Cloud Domain Name members at different levels enjoy different value-added services, such as order discounts and Mi Points. Benefits are determined by your Alibaba Cloud Domain Name Membership level. When you upgrade, the new benefits take effect immediately. When you downgrade, the previous benefits expire immediately. Mi Points are part of the membership benefits. The rules for earning and using Mi Points are subject to the information displayed on the Domain Name Membership page.
Alibaba Cloud reserves the right to modify the membership level rules and benefits based on market changes, operational needs of the Alibaba Cloud Domain Names platform, and other factors. Benefits for the same level may differ over time. The specific benefits are subject to the information displayed on the Domain Name Membership page.
What is Micheng?
Mi Points are a reward offered by Alibaba Cloud Domain Names to its members, including Regular, Silver, and Gold members. You earn Mi Points by spending on domain name transactions. You can use Mi Points as a cash discount when paying for a winning bid in a Wanwang pre-release domain name auction. Mi Points are valid for at least one year and expire at the end of the same month in the following year. For example, Mi Points earned on January 13 of this year will expire on January 31 of next year.
What is MiCheng used for?
You can currently use Mi Points for Wanwang pre-release domain name auctions. After winning a bid, you can apply them as a cash discount to your order payment. 1 Mi Point is equivalent to CNY 1. The discount amount cannot exceed 20% of your winning bid.

How do I earn Mi Points?
Members can earn Mi Points in the following ways:
You earn Mi Points when you purchase a Fixed Price (Premium Selection) domain name and successfully complete the ownership transfer.
You earn Mi Points after you win a bid for a Wanwang pre-release domain name, pay for the order, and successfully complete the ownership transfer.
If you are the second-highest bidder in a domain name auction, you earn Mi Points after the domain name is successfully transferred to the winning bidder.
You earn 1 Mi Point for every CNY 10 spent. Gold members earn 2 Mi Points for every CNY 10 spent. You do not earn Mi Points for purchases under CNY 10.
Spending before the Domain Name Membership service went online does not earn Mi Points. Only spending on specified order types after the service is online can earn Mi Points. For example, you cannot earn Mi Points for a Fixed Price (Premium Selection) domain name order that was purchased and transferred before 16:30 on January 23, 2024.
Other notes
You earn Mi Points only after the ownership of a purchased domain name is successfully transferred. You do not earn Mi Points simply by completing the payment.
If a transaction in which you used Mi Points for a discount is not completed, the Mi Points are returned to your account and their validity period is extended.
Orders for domain name registration, transfer-in, renewal, or redemption do not count toward membership level evaluation and do not earn Mi Points. This includes renewal or transfer-in orders generated during certain domain name transactions.
Expired Mi Points cannot be used or exchanged for cash.
Enterprise customers who already receive other domain name transaction discounts are not eligible for the membership and Mi Points program.
