If you cannot register your desired domain name, you can purchase one from its current owner. The Alibaba Cloud Domain Name Trading Platform (mi.aliyun.com) uses Alipay to secure transactions. The platform offers several transaction types, such as domain backorders, fixed-price sales, and auctions. It provides secure and convenient domain trading services for buyers and sellers.
Prerequisites
Register an Alibaba Cloud account and complete identity verification. For more information, see Alibaba Cloud Account Registration Process.
Create a registrant profile and complete its identity verification. For more information, see Domain Name Identity Verification.
Most domain name transactions require payment through Alipay. You must bind your Alipay account on the Alibaba Cloud Domain Name Trading Alipay Binding page in advance.
Resource Access Management (RAM) users cannot perform domain name transactions.
Coupons cannot be used for domain name transaction orders. Available payment methods may vary by transaction type. The available options are displayed on the payment page.
Domain name transactions involve risks. To avoid fraud and prevent unnecessary losses, trade with caution and review the Domain Name Trading Anti-fraud Tips before you begin.

Buyers can purchase desired domain names quickly and safely on the Alibaba Cloud Domain Name Trading Platform. Alibaba Cloud works with multiple partners to offer various transaction types. You can choose a transaction type based on your needs.

HiChina Pre-release is a backorder and auction service provided by Alibaba Cloud for domain names that are about to expire and were registered through Alibaba Cloud.
NoteIf the original registrant redeems the domain name, the pre-release transaction fails.

Partner Domain Backorder: The backordered domain names are provided by partners.

Partner Domain Backorder
A backorder and auction service for expired domain names provided by Alibaba Cloud through partner channels. This service currently includes DL Pre-release and XW Pre-release.

At least 45 days after winning the auction.
This service is for domain names listed for sale by users through an auction, also shown as "Regular Domain Auction" on some pages. It also includes domain names that the registrant has delegated to Alibaba Cloud for renewal and sale by auction, also shown as "Idle Domain Auction" on some pages.
The final order price of the domain auction or idle domain auction.
Real-time delivery after the seller receives the payment through Alipay.
A registration service provided by Alibaba Cloud for expired domain names pending deletion. No auction is required. Each domain name can be backordered by only one person.

A centralized list of various types of backordered domain names that are currently up for auction. Users who have not backordered a domain name can directly participate in the auction in the Auction Hall.

These domain names are listed directly by Alibaba Cloud domain users. Alibaba Cloud oversees the entire transaction and issues invoices to buyers. You can pay for Fixed Price (Premium Selection) domain names using your Alibaba Cloud account balance, online payment, or offline remittance.

Fixed Price (Premium Selection): Buyers can request an invoice.

Fixed-price domain name sale listings provided by Alibaba Cloud partners. The purchase process for Fixed Price (Featured Selection) domain names is generally longer.

Domain names affected by ICANN transfer policies may take more than 60 days.
Default Purchase domain names are a special type of fixed-price domain name. These are domain names that users successfully backordered on the Alibaba Cloud platform but failed to pay for on time, which are then forfeited according to the default rules.
