After you create an automatic snapshot policy, you can modify its settings and tags as needed.

Modify policy settings

You can modify policy settings, such as the creation schedule, retention period, and cross-region replication settings.

Note

You cannot modify a default policy named default_policy that was created after May 1, 2024.

  1. Go to the Automatic Snapshot Policies page in the ECS console page in the ECS console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group of the resource that you want to manage. Region

  3. On the Automatic Snapshot Policies tab, find the policy that you want to modify and click Modify Automatic Snapshot Policy in the Operation column.

  4. In the Modify Automatic Snapshot Policy panel, modify the policy settings.

For parameter details, see Create an automatic snapshot policy.

    Note

Changing the retention period affects only snapshots created after the change. Existing snapshots retain their original retention period. For example, if you change the retention period from 20 days to 10 days, new snapshots are retained for 10 days, while existing snapshots are still retained for 20 days.

  5. Click OK.

Modify policy tags

Tags help you categorize resources by shared characteristics, such as their organization or retention period. You can use tags to find and manage resources more easily.

  1. Go to the Automatic Snapshot Policies page in the ECS console page in the ECS console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group of the resource that you want to manage. Region

  3. On the Automatic Snapshot Policies tab, find the target policy and edit its tags based on one of the following scenarios:

    • If the policy has no tags: In the Tag column, hover over the 标签 icon and click will be bound to instances. Are you sure that you want to perform this operation?.

    • If the policy has tags: In the Tag column, hover over the tag count (for example, 标签) and click Modify.

  4. In the Edit Tags dialog box, select existing tags or add new tags, and then click OK.
