Contact groups

When you create a notification policy, you can specify a contact group that receives alert notifications. When the dispatch rule in the notification policy is triggered, the Alert Management module of Enterprise Distributed Application Service (EDAS) sends alert notifications to contacts in the specified contact group through one or more of the following channels:

  • Phone call

  • Text message

  • Email

  • DingTalk

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

Create a contact group

  1. Log on to the EDAS consoleEDAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Application Management > Applications.

  3. On the Applications page, select a region in the top navigation bar. From the Microservices Namespace drop-down list, select a microservices namespace. From the Cluster Type drop-down list, select ECS Clusters. Click the name of the application that you want to manage.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alert Management > Contact.

  5. On the Contacts tab, click Create Contact Group in the upper-right corner.

  6. In the Create Contact Group dialog box, configure the following settings, and then click OK.

Search for a contact group

On the Contacts tab, enter the full or partial group name in the search box, and then click the Search icon.

Edit a contact group

  1. On the Contacts tab, find the target contact group and click the Edit icon next to it.

  2. Click Edit Group.

  3. In the Edit Contact Group dialog box, modify the settings as needed, and then click OK.

Note

You can only edit contact groups created by your current account.

View contacts in a group

On the Contacts tab, click the Expand icon to the left of a contact group to expand and view its members.

Delete a contact group

  1. On the Contacts tab, find the target contact group and click the Delete icon next to it.

  2. Click Delete Group.

  3. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

Important

Before you delete a contact group, make sure it is not assigned to a notification policy. If the group is still in use, remove it from the notification policy first, or assign a different contact group to the policy. Otherwise, alert notifications for that policy may fail to be sent. You can only delete contact groups created by your current account.
