Billing methods

Graph Database (GDB) instances support the subscription and pay-as-you-go billing methods.

Subscription (upfront)
  • Pay for the instance when you create it.
  • You receive a 15% discount for a one-year subscription. Longer subscription periods offer greater discounts.
  • You can change the configuration of a subscription instance. For more information, see Change instance configuration.
  • You can manually release a subscription instance. For more information, see Release an instance.
  • You cannot convert a subscription instance to a pay-as-you-go instance.
Pay-as-you-go (postpaid)
  • The billing cycle is one hour. You are billed for one hour even if you use an instance for less than one hour.
  • If you change the instance capacity within a billing cycle, you are billed based on the highest capacity specification in that cycle.

    Example:

    For the billing cycle from 01:00:00 to 02:00:00 (UTC+8), if the instance capacity is 1 GB at 01:10:00, changed to 8 GB at 01:20:00, and then changed to 2 GB at 01:50:00, you are billed based on the 8 GB capacity for this cycle.

  • A bill is typically generated within one hour, and no more than three hours, after a billing cycle ends. The actual time when the bill is generated prevails.

    Example:

    The bill for the 09:00:00 to 10:00:00 cycle is generated before 11:00:00.

  • After a bill is generated, the fee is automatically deducted from your account balance.
  • You can manually release a pay-as-you-go instance. For more information, see Release an instance.
  • You can convert a pay-as-you-go instance to a subscription instance. For more information, see Convert from pay-as-you-go to subscription.
    Important After converting to a subscription, you are immediately billed at the subscription rate.
Note
  • You are billed for a Graph Database (GDB) instance based on the provisioned storage space, not the actual storage space used.

    For example, if you create a GDB instance with 2 GB of storage space and store 256 MB of data, you are billed for 2 GB of storage space.

  • Internal network traffic between Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances and GDB instances is free of charge.
